Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On a cloudy and rainy day our guide was so good that we focussed on her and the experience. The skies cleared just before we left and we have the Madame Rouge we purchased from the town wine merchant after truly the best Fish and chips to reminisce. Just do it

Glen is a wealth of knowledge sharing with us the best of Waikiki, we visited a selection of great wineries and he managed to get us a table for a divine lunch at Mudbrick Wineries. Glen is entertaining and breaks the ice between guests making it such a great day. Thanks Glen and cheers 🍷

All in a days work, so glad you enjoyed the day, the vineyards, banter, scenery, the fellow travelers and your mubrick lunch. Come back soon, lots more to do see, drink, and eat. Glenn

We are sorry to disagree with the majority.
We were staying on the island and booked a full day tour.We were telephoned and told we would be picked up 15 minutes earlier than arranged. That was no problem but it was strange that we then waited over half an hour for the Auckland ferry to arrive. We collected 4 from the ferry and we were 8 in total.
Our driver/guide was Graham, a sweet kindly retired gentleman.
We arrived at Peacock Sky for our first tasting at 11.15 am. This was excellent with 5 wines tasted with food to try and match. We then went to Osibidan and Kennedys where we tasted 5 wines at each. Both ladies were knowledgeable although the Kennedy lady [ proprietor we think ] was a little stuffy.
We finished at 1.30 pm. That was the sum total of our full day wine tasting tour, 15 wines tasted in just over 2 hours.
The rest of the day was spent ferrying each of the 4 couples to whichever place that they had chosen to have lunch and then returning to collect them and take them either to the 4.00 pm or the 5.00 pm, ferry whichever was their choice. Also, one couple was dropped off at a supermarket do do some shopping and collected later.
We admit that there was an element of sightseeing, but this was thwarted by Graham's microphone being ineffective probably because there was no air conditioning in the van and therefore the windows had to be opened. In fairness to Graham he stuck to his task manfully and did offer us bottles of water to counteract the heat and stuffiness.
We would make the following suggestions for consideration:-
1- Add a fourth winery, you have enough time as the tour started at 10.00 am and ended at 5.00 pm.
2- Consider an arrangement with a winery to set out a platter type lunch and add say 15$ to the price. This will save on all the taxiing around and if all your customers eat together this often engenders a good spirit
3- Offer clients only one return ferry time, this will save on extra taxiing journeys.
4- Have air conditioning on all vans.

Dear davidokok, Thanks for taking the time to review your November tour with us. We are happy to receive constructive feedback as it gives us the opportunity to review our service and we will respond to your comments in detail: We originally arranged to pick you up at from Kiwi House 10:15am however a last-minute booking also required a local pickup, necessitating a change in your allocated time. As there is not enough parking for tour operators at Matiatia we like to get there early to park directly outside the doors for our clients disembarking the ferry. We try as much as possible to keep our tour to schedule and picking up clients from accommodation before heading to the ferry helps us achieve this. We felt your personal comments about our driver Graham and the “stuffy” lady at Kennedy Point were unnecessary. In none of our promotional material do we advertise a full day wine tour. Our tour timings are clearly detailed on the “Tours” page of our website however it is not possible to provide a tour with scenic highlights, visits to those three vineyards with 15+ wine tastings, as we did that day and finish at 1:30pm. Yes - we do have full vented air-conditioning in both our vans but unfortunately with mechanical systems, things go wrong. The LDV van you travelled in was under a year old and is fitted with an air-conditioning unit. The entire unit has since been replaced under warranty. Opening all the windows was the best we could do to deal with the problem which had just arisen. Re adding another vineyard: Our tour starts at 10:45am (not 10am) and finishes at around 2pm when we transfer clients to lunch. 99% of our clients are more than happy tasting 15+ wines (as you did) and by 2pm are well ready for lunch. Most clients are also excited to be able to choose their lunch venue and they see it as a lovely extension to their day. Over the summer we introduced a shuttle service after the last tasting to ensure clients get to lunch on time and this has worked very well. For anyone that wants a $15 lunch we are always happy to transfer them to a café in the village. As you didn’t mention lunch we presume you were happy with your choice? Re return ferry sailings: Our aim (as with everything we do) is to be accommodating. In fact at the end of the tour when Graham offered to return you to Kiwi House, you were quite happy to stay in the van while he transferred others to the ferry. Because of this he finished your day by taking you up to Delamore Drive so you could view the city from that vantage point - not necessary as the tour was well and truly over, but that is the kind of person Graham is. Finally we were very glad to hear you enjoyed your vineyard experiences!

When we booked the wine tour, we were advised to buy our ferry tickets online. We also were able to have the tour operator make lunch reservations for us. The ferry ride from Auckland to Waiheke Island took about 30 minutes and afforded great views of the Auckland city skyline. Wayne, our guide and owner of Waiheke Islands Wine Tour, was there at the terminal to meet us and the other 6 people on the tour. We traveled in the air-conditioned van to three wineries plus lunch. While I’ve wine-tasted in many parts of the world, I can’t say I was a huge fan of the wines. But it was a great way to see the beautiful island of Waiheke and learn about the wines they produce there. Lunch at Casita Miro was delicious. After lunch, Wayne drove us back to the ferry terminal for the ferry back to Auckland. Overall, it was a great day with beautiful scenery, interesting wines, and delicious food.

We had a wonderful day on Waiheke Island with Wayne. We went to 3 great wineries and had lunch at a lovely restaurant. Wayne was very knowledgeable about the area, had a good sense of humor and made sure we had a lot of fun. Jean made the booking process very easy, gave good instructions on where to meet and had great suggestions on where to go for lunch. We really appreciated her following up with us to be sure we had a lunch reservation since there were 8 of us and she knew restaurants would be busy. Thank you Wayne and Jean for a lovely day!

Throughly enjoyed the wines and lunch at Casita Miro. One suggestion though, during the half hour or so drive around for scenic views before wine tasting, it wold have been great to get a few photos of the scenery.
