Fantastic day out with the family, ebikes were fabulous, would be hard without the electric part!! Amazing views, wineries, breweries, cafes and restaurants. And of course the stops for a swim and icecream.

We were superbly looked after by J at eride when renting our ebikes today - he couldn't have been more helpful or professional in his dealings with us, and we would highly recommend ebikes.

Booked on-line and no hassles when we got off the ferry. We given a map with great explanation of the island and why riding the route depicted was the best and safest, we did the 5 bays ride (with some extra side trips).
Bikes were charged and in good condition, we got a thorough briefing on how everything worked. We had no issues with either bike and had a fantastic day out.
I don’t normally ride an e-bike, but on Waiheke it was a blessing as it certainly has some hills. We did 40km and still had battery left at the end. Would happily do the rental again.

It was fun day on the bikes!l As a previous reviewer mentioned there are no bike lanes (except for a few sections), the roads are windy and your riding around vineyards, so that felt a little sketchy if people had maybe overindulged and we’re attempting to drive! I didn’t feel unsafe, but I was definitely aware of all the cars going by! We rode bikes several times while in NZ and this was the easiest course, but the other rides we had a designated path which I’m just more comfortable with. But still glad to have done it! We were riding on a Saturday, so might have been a little busier because of that too. The bikes were nice, and they staff provided some nice recommendations of wineries and places to stop! I didn’t think about it until the day of, but most of the places had like an hour or 2 wait when we’re looking for a place to eat, so book in advance or pick a non weekend day. Staff very friendly and helpful!

The staff and the bikes were great but there is a clear need for bike lanes and a decent route around the island. Most of the time you are in traffic (and there was a lot of it) and there is virtually no shoulder to speak of. Routes are sporadic and poorly marked. I worry that if some riders are not experienced they could easily be bumped on the roadways. Not the relaxing experience I was expecting.

We prebooked and everything was as promised. You can get a cheaper deal if you’re prepared to risk not booking. Great way to see the island.

Owner Mark and his staff could not have been nicer. They enthusiastically explained how to use the ebike and provided us with a map and suggestions of where to ride. We were originally going to take the hop on/hop off bus, but the weather was gorgeous and we weren't thrilled about waiting for the bus or adhering to a rigid timetable. We were so glad we changed our mind as Waiheke is so easily explored by ebike. Thank you for a fun and relaxing day, a brilliant start to our vacation.

We did the Man of War Bay ride (35 miles in 4 hrs) w/ no stops at wineries, just a picnic at the bay. Wondrous scenery and the recommended loop of going the southern route first, then counterclockwise around Man of War Bay, and northern route back worked well to be able to conserve enough battery on the uphills and downhills to make it back with battery assist. We celebrated with an Island Gelato in Oneroa! What a wonderful adventure!

Pickup was super easy and the employees were very helpful providing a map and going over the preferred route. E-bikes worked great and were much needed with all of the hills. Had a fantastic experience!
