Best Tasting Experience
Feb 2020
Our group dropped into Awaroa Winery. It's one of the smaller vineyards on the island but the wine was fantastic. Each of our group went away with a bottle of something. We were lucky enough to have our tasting while the winemaker was there. He is obviously very passionate about making wine and made the experience really special. Don't miss this winery if you visit Waiheke.

Great wines made with soul. You can't get more Waiheke than Awaroa Winery. The setting is so peaceful and the staff obviously love what they do.

Boutique Organic Vineyard
Feb 2020
Awaroa was our second stop on a multi-cellar door tour. Small in size, the wines are big in flavor. Awaroa is a boutique organic vineyard with a relatively new tasting room (though they have been producing wine for some 20 years). The staff were very informative and obviously passionate about their juice! The personalized experience we received was appreciated and we would definitely recommend a stop here while on Waiheke! Cheers!!!

OK it’s not the biggest tasting room, or the most picturesque setting. The food isn’t as elaborate as other vineyards; although platters are available. But what you do get is some great wine and a friendly informative greeting by the hosts, who may even be part owners of this vineyard.
Even though we arrived about an hour before they closed there was no attempt to rush through the process and in fact we were offered 6 tasting wines instead of 5. All for the princely sum of $15 pp. Excellent value for money.
Enjoy!

Best wine we tried on Waiheke and best value as well

Well worth a visit, really liked some of the reds and at a much more reasonable price than most of the other wineries we visited. Fully organic as well.

Outstanding experience - a real find on Waiheke
Feb 2019 • Friends
I came across this tasting room on the eastern less-inhabited end of Waiheke Island. It's a 5 minute drive from Onetangi Beach. It's only been open since December 2018 and what a treat it is. It's set in beautiful surroundings with stunning views. The staff were really great - knowlegeable and happy to talk about the history of Awaroa winery. This is a real find - the red wines in particular are to die for.

Got to meet the wine maker

We had a lovely visit at this boutique winery. We tasted delicious white wines, followed by red and at the end bought some to take with us.

We would return.
