Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We went on a guided snorkelling tour of approximately one hour in Sandy Bay and everyone from a 69 year old to a 17 year old thoroughly enjoyed it. Our dive tour guide, Jake was so helpful, professional and friendly, we felt totally safe and taken care of. The equipment we used was in very good condition and we can recommend this experience to anyone, even if you haven't snorkelled before.

We had a great time on our snorkel trip! We started in the shop which has an abundance of kit and souvenirs to buy, we got fitted for wet suits and snorkels and jumped in the van to head down to the coast. Our guide Jack took us through the plan for the afternoon, and showed us pictures of all the fish we might expect to see.

Jack was a great guide, making sure we all got the best out of the experience, pointing out the Eagle Rays, and pipe fish and kept looking for them until he knew we’d all had the chance to see them.

Jack was very knowledgable and an excellent guide! We also had a great chat to Jake and Pippa in the shop who were also very friendly and helpful.

Would definitely recommend, thank you!

I spent an hour in a relaxed and beautiful dive. Jack, the instructor, was so kind and explained me everything very accurate. The equipment was in good conditions and also the store itself.
I really appreciate the time spent there and I would like to recommend it to everyone diving in New Zealand

Had a great four days doing my OWD with the Waiheke Dive team. Instructor Callum was super friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about diving. I felt totally safe learning to dive with him and we had so much fun doing so at the same time. I can’t recommend Waiheke Dive enough for getting your open water dive certification!

My boyfriend and I went diving with Lucy a few days ago and we had a fantastic experience. It was our first time we were both a bit nervous! We started in the shop and she was really helpful and friendly, making jokes with us but maintaining a professional attitude. We drove to enclosure bay where she spent the perfect amount of time with us making us feel comfortable in the water. I found myself feeling really anxious and thought I wouldn’t be able to do it, but she was so patient and I felt completely safe and in good hands. Would absolutely recommend to a friend and anyone for their first time! Thank you Waiheke Dive for an amaaazzzzingg expérience!

My husband completed the Padi Open Water dive course with Lucy and Adam from Waiheki dive and I joined for his final training dive. The team were lovely and professional from the start and we had an amazing experience both with training and a normal guided dive. We would recommend for anyone wanting to do a little diving when in the area!

Wonderful experience. We recently completed our open water PADI and walked past the dive shop deciding to find out more. The staff were super helpful we spoke to 3 different staff members are were really friendly and helpful answering questions. Our dive was led by Jack who was amazing. The equipment was slightly different than we had used before and the team was patient and helpful & we felt confident. The dive itself was great we saw octopus and the eagle ray which Jack pointed out.

We had Jack take us on a guided snorkel. He couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly or professional. We went to a beautiful bay with a small group and had a great time spotting the local sea life. Don’t hesitate, snorkelling is for everyone!

My first visit to Waiheke Dive and Snorkel was in January 2018. Almost 5 years later I am still a regular customer and always have a 5 star experience.
Today so much fun on the boat, First rate skippering from Jake with 2 fabulous dives with Jack.
This team are super friendly and a day out with them feels super safe, super chilled and super fun.

Highly recommended. I have been in and out of shop regularly. Adam and Lucy and the other team members are always really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. However this is the first time I have been on one of the trips. I went on the Kelp Gardeners snorkelling event at Enclosure Bay. Gear and transport to the site provided. Well organised, safe and fun, and also a good cause: the mission is to remove excess kina so you help feed the local community, reduce the incidence of kina barrens and contribute to a marine study, so it's a win-win. The project seems to be working well, as there's so much kelp that at first it was hard to find the kina.
You don't have to be super fit, but it's good for people who are reasonably confident swimmers as you're going up and down in depths around 5 metres for an hour, and there's a wee bit of a swim out through the rocks to the site...about 100m.
