Want a stupendous view over Picton and the Marlborough Sounds for free? all you need is plenty of puff and the view is yours. The path winds up and up from Newgate Street near the harbour and there's plenty of views on the way up....More

We started our journey at the Garden Terrace end, as we were staying at a campsite near here. This entrance to the track will show you signs to go across the stream over stepping stones, however we ended up taking our shoes off, rolling up...More

Iz and I stayed at the Top 10 Holiday Park and strolled up this track to catch a view of Picton. Strolled is not really the term to use. At times the track was treacherous due to greasy slippery clay-like mud underfoot threatening to pitch...More

Took my fat bum about 50 mins with a 35lbs 3yo on my back. Several spots with good views, and then you'll know you're there at the top when the great view is all there in front of you!

I went up from Newgate Street (a bit of a trek from town). It's a very manageable walk - quite a lot of steps but the views are very nice on a clear day. The way down to Garden Terrace is more of a slope...More

This track is suitable to most fitness levels. I started and exited from Newgate Street. Stunning view at the top! Little over half an hour one way for me to do. However, DO NOT attempt after heavy downpour or when the track is damp. Coming...More

This hike was good to run up for some good exercise. I recommend it--especially on a clear day when you can look down on Picton.
