We hired kayaks for a day of the Queen Charlotte Track. We are experienced kayakers and wanted to take our kids with us in two doubles to take a break from walking, without the expense of a fully guided tour - which wasn't needed. Other outfits wouldn't allow a group that included a 12 year old, but we were so grateful that Marlborough Sounds Adventure let us. It was a fantastic day amongst an excellent family holiday. They took care of all the boat transfers too and helped with advice on how to plan the trip. Fantastic experience.

10/10 Would recommend! These guys are amazing. It was my partner's birthday and we're experienced paddlers, so we got a double kayak for a five day adventure to the outer sounds. We brought our own food and tent and MSAC provided us with everything else we needed: the kayak, paddles, life jackets, bilge pump, sponge, waterproof jackets, dry bags, and map! They helped us plan our trip, recommending campsites and islands to visit, and made it all so easy. We particularly loved the Ratimera Bay campsite and Blumine Island, both of which are only accessed by water, which made it super special. We also saw tons of super cool wildlife, including fur seals, rays, kakariki, and even wild seahorses! We had such an amazing time. They also have day trips and guided hiking/biking/kayaking overnights, so maybe next time we'll see the sounds from the trail! Best adventure in Picton.

Would really recommend these guys if you're walking the Queen Charlotte Track! They were very accomodating with getting us in during the busy season, and worked with us to add extra nights at some of the accomodation so we could enjoy the sounds for as long as possible. The bag transfers were so helpful, and our bags always arrived in our rooms in perfect condition well before we did. There was no drama with catching the water taxi back with our bags on the last day when we were rained out. Can't recommend them enough, will definitely use again. Seamless process from start to finish!

Queen Charlotte 5 day (walk everyday) freedom walk This package took away all the stress of a multiday hike. Accommodation, lunches, pack transfers and transport to and from the track were all included and made the entire trip completely hassle-free. Breakfast and dinner can be had in the accommodations' restaurants/cafes so all I had to pack was toiletries and clothes. The walk itself was much easier than anticipated and the trip info booklet provided could do with some updating. I wish I had known that you can call Cougar Line to arrange an earlier boat on the last day as it was a much shorter walk than the booklet said it might be but otherwise I felt like I was provided with all the information I needed for the walk. The package was perfect, MSAC staff were helpful on the day I set out, and I met people along the way who wished they'd opted for a package as accommodation was hard to book at the recommended distances each day. All in all, highly recommend.
