My husband (65) and I (59) greatly enjoyed our guided walk on the QC track. Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company took care of everything. The accommodations along the way (Furneaux, Ponga, and Portage Bay) were superb. Our luggage was transported daily, so we just carried daypacks with our lunch and water and extra layers. We hiked in early March and the... More

Very lucky with the weather , blue sky's all week. The scenery is spectacular , definitely rate this walk up with the best. Not too hard but definitely need some fitness as some steep hill climbs , beautiful views all along. Recommend the kayaking ..lots of fun and well organised.

Really enjoyed our 14 km paddle in the Kenepuru Sounds with our very experienced guide Harry. Collected green lip mussels which were cooked up for our lunch together with the yummy rolls, cup cakes and slice.

We booked the 4-day Freedom Walk with Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company (the MSAC); so, while we walked on the Queen Charlotte Track, our accommodation had been pre-booked, a packed lunch was provided each morning and our baggage was taken each day to the next resort. The Track is tremendous, providing stunning views and a real sense of experiencing a remote... More

With the help of our guide Lion we navigated from Picton through the traffic lanes and rounded the point to paddle past beautiful shoreline populated with various birds and geo displays of the ancient landscape. Imagine our delight when a school of manta rays swam with and around us! Definitely a peak experience Don't miss

As a birthday present to myself I booked the four day Freedom walk with Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company and it turns out that this was one of the best experiences ever. From the first contact to arrival in Picton, the walk until the transfer back to the Bluebridge Ferry to Wellington, the organization and communication with the agency was just... More

My partner and I booked a kayak/hike combo trip. We kayaked with a small group and friendly guide out into the Sounds one day for a stay at the Lochmara Lodge, then hiked part of the Queen Charlotte Track back the following day (6 hour hike) and got picked up by a ferry boat for the return to Picton. Everything... More

My husband and I (we are both in our mid-60s) booked the 5-Day Queen Charlotte Track Freedom Walk -- and it was incredible. Neither one of us is a true hiker so we were a bit concerned whether this would be too difficult. It was indeed a challenge for us (especially the long 8-hour walk) but it was totally worth... More

We rented kayaks for 3 days to go explore the sounds. The camping was great, especially since most of the campsites are only accessible by boat so you have them to yourself! We saw dolphins, seals, sting rays, kereru, weka, and lots of sea birds. Navigation is easy if you've had a bit of practice, but do not go unguided... More

First-class guided walk on the Queen Charlotte Track is well worth it. Everything about this trip was organized thoroughly, and our guide Ray was a wonderful tour leader, professional in every aspect. The lodging and food are also first class. The Queen Charlotte Track is not an easy trek, but those of above-moderate fitness will do fine. The views along... More
