The Sounds are really quite spectacular and a must see and the best way is to take one of the many cruises available. They are not cheap and usually take a full day but you can find one that visits various places and also allows...More

What a beautiful place! We kayaked, hiked, ate and explored the Sounds. Clear water with starfish, jellyfish and sea urchins. Go off road for a lovely walk to Bob's Bay and hunt for seashells or eat at the farmer's market for fresh cherries, or perhaps...More

Peaceful and gorgeous setting. Lots of options for hiking, sailing or swimming. Booking boat trips was easy and not necessarily needed to be done ahead of time.

The Marlborough Sounds have scenic walks and lovely bush and trees to explore. Pretty coves with clear water for swimming. Peace and quiet.

Everything you could ask for in a waterside location. Great hailing, plenty of kayaking, and fantastic views. Will come back again for more!

We often cruise through the Marlborough Sound and it would be one of the most beautiful water ways in the world.

Captain Cook travelled here by sailing boat four times in the 18th century. You will quickly see why he loved it so much. There are so many bays and fives that you can always find a sheltered spot. It is simply stunning, an absolute must-see.

Well reputed small tour company with great local guides who are well informed about the local attractions as well as the smaller, less well known places to visit for food and spectacular views. Need to book - we did the half day winery tour and...More
