Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I would highly recommend Natural Encounters. Greg was so professional and very responsive. It was all organised for me, down to the fine details of luggage transfers, water taxis and lunch. The trip itself was unforgettable with beautiful accommodation along the way. I did the solo walk - all the relevant information was provided in an information pack and I had no issues. The walk was amazing, this part of NZ is so beautiful and there are so many photo opportunities! Go and book, you won't regret it.

Fantastic trip organised by Greg. We had a great four days walking with delicious lunches, informative friendly discussions and lovely accomodation. Greg was very helpful with other suggestions regarding our trip and went out of his way to look after us. A treat to experience Queen Charlotte like this. Thank you

We enjoyed doing a few days of the Queen Charlotte track. Greg made the trip super easy and no hassle - sorting everything out to meet our needs including a great apartment to stay at in Picton itself, Furneaux Lodge while walking, and all the water taxi transfers - including being flexible with timing to suit us. I would definitely recommend using Greg to organise the details of your trip - it was just exactly what we wanted. We saw dolphins and seals and many seabirds on the water taxis, as well as a great range of bird life while walking - the weka were very curious.

Amazing 3 days if you don't have time for the full walk. Start at ship cove and end at torea bay. Dinner at Mahana lodge is a standout, definitely worth paying extra for.

Greg and natural encounters were very helpful with planning and communication was great. Would recommend this company and tour to all.

We took the 5 day option and had a terrific time. Greg was helpful, polite and bookings, luggage, taxis, pick ups everything ran well.
Quick communication and Greg was able to arrange pick us up early for one of our days. The room on the water with Fernaux lodge was gorgeous and restaurant at Punga resort was exceptional. Here there are three international chefs and we surprised to be met with absolute fine dining. The third day is a long day, but in hindsight we might not have taken the following days rest and had an extra night in Picton or on the trail, walking. It was October, so it could be cold and then warm for walking. We found sticks helped us ups hills and down slippery slopes but this was our first go a multi day trekking. Taking your own breakfast was a cost saver. Thanks . Starting and finishing in Picton on an overnight was a big help.

Booked the 5 day unguided Queen Charlotte Track through Greg. We took the all inclusive package which I recommend. Greg was very helpful, it was very well organised and bags sorted without any problems. Accommodation on the whole was great, meals were also very good, packed lunches, cold beer at the end of the day. The rest day on day 4 is good, after a hard 3rd day. Greg met us at the end and took us back to our accommodation. Happily recommend booking this through him. No hassals at all for us. Lovely walk also.

An amazing 5 day hike. Our first attempt at something like this and Natural Encounters is the way to go. Greg ensured a fantastic, fuss free, well organised trip, so we could focus on the hike and enjoy the outstanding scenery. The accommodation is excellent, the food superb. Will definitely recommend Natural Encounters to family and friends.
