We did the four day walk of the Queen Charlotte Track, organised through Wilderness Guides.
We stayed at Furneaux Lodge, Punga Cove and Lochmara Lodge, accommodation and water taxi transfers were all organised by Wilderness Guides.
It was an amazing experience, and we loved it! It was very well organised, the packed lunches were just what we needed and the team were super helpful.
Highly recommended!

We completed the 4 day Independent on the Queen Charlotte walk staying at Furneaux Lodge , Punga Cove and Portage Hotel with Wilderness Guides.
The track was a fabulous experience particularly that as Aussies, we were able to complete the walk with the lifting of COVID border restrictions just before the season closed.
The accomidatation was wonderful with our favourite being Punga Cove (all the comforts you'd expect) after a long days walk.
Overall the walk exceeded our expectations as the Marlbrough Sounds vistas were just fabulous.

A first class experience organised by a first class guide. I did the 4 Day Standard Independent Walk - Furneaux Lodge, Punga Cove & Portage Hotel at Wilderness Guides with two of my sons (13 & 18) and one of their friends (18). The walk exceeded expectations in every respect. The terrain is undulating and the daily walks just long enough and sufficiently challenging to ensure you’re having to make a bit of an effort and getting a little fitter. The fresh sheets, hot showers and a la carte dining at each lodge is a reward and incentive to get there! The organisation was seamless and when owing to covid and staff shortages, the Portage had to close its restaurant, Wilderness Guides stepped up and organised transport and water taxis to and from Lochmara Lodge for dinner. The scenery was a stunning reminder why this is one of NZ’s Great Walks. I unreservedly recommend it and Wilderness Guides. We live once; do this walk.

12 of us had a wonderful trip organised by Martyn , and assisted by Alex, everything was taken care of, even the couriering back of my forgotten wine and chocolates. With such a big group it was great to have all the finer details taken care of for us. Great communication made life easy. Highly recommend.

Walking the Queen Charlotte walk had always been on my bucket list and my friend and I were lucky enough to walk the independent 3 night/4 day walk.
It was everything we thought and more. We went to the bird sanctuary first where we saw live kiwis in a penguin box which was incredible and then after spending an hour listening and walking to the top of the island, took in the expansive area.
Everything was done for us as far as collecting our bags and moving to our next accommodation while we were able to walk and enjoy the magnificent sounds just with our lunch, drink, camera and a raincoat ( Which wasnt needed).
The weather was stunning, views breathtaking and our accommodation and evening meals were sensational! Alex our morning guide was brilliant as well as Ryan who took us in the water taxi on the first day.

My sister and I booked the 5 day independent queen Charlotte walk. Wilderness guides were fantastic! Value for money and great communication. Everything went very smoothly from the excellent accomodation and transfer of packs and ferry. Great info provided for the trip including a brochure with info on what to expect handed to us at orientation which was very useful. I'll 100% rebook with wilderness guides when I return.
