Enjoy a stroll in the beautiful gardens planted by the locals as a tribute of respect. It is but a short walk from the local beach and main street. we had easy parking as well near the very clean and modern toilets.

Stunning memorial and beautiful rose garden. A lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Right beside the beach.

Humbling in any sense of the word. We have been to just about every Commonwealth War Grave situated around the world but rest assured even the ones in towns big or small in New Zealand catch you in the Heart. Rain or shine however our time is marked on this earth, whatever your belief or even if you have none, please pause a while and thank them and their families sacrifice as this is a debt of gratitude that should be acknowledged.

Very attractive and gentle garden with thoughtful inscriptions memorialising those that gave up their lives. A very quiet and introspective example of a countries gratitude

Lovely area that is well maintained and very popular with people on the sunny weekend day we visited. Many people sitting around having picnics etc.

Close to the water so many people gathering on Anniversary weekend.

A attractive memorial garden which is well kept and sited in a position where people pass on a regular basis.

More ornate and overtly Christian than most memorials back home in England, but never the less a touching tribute to the sacrifices of the local population. Credit must also be given to those who keep the surrounding gardens in such magnificent condition which really helps to display the monument at its best.

Beautiful location, extremely well-maintained, with lovely roses. The names on the cenotaph tell a story of the immense loss suffered by a small community.
