Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful little cinema with licensed cafe. I enjoyed a French movie with a glass of local chardonnay and it was very comfy and enjoyable. I went to a Saturday matinee and there was only one other couple there. The staff were also friendly and helpful.

Great wee theater with comfortable seating, big sound and great sized screen. Excellent service! Top Gun Maverick a must see here. The little tables next to the seats were great for our wine and nibbles.

We spent a week at Akoroa and was amazed by it's beauty. However for me it was the cinema that will leave the most impression. As a cinema it had a huge range of films per day and they are watched in the most luxurious surroundings. The cafe is great and there is internet access. Being away from home for the last three months I relished the sense of community I found within the complex(often open until 10.30 at night). A lasting memory Thank you

There are two screens one seats about 50 the other 25. There is a cafe attached to the cinema serving excellent coffee and drinks including alcohol and the films are changed each Thursday with at least 4 films been shown in rotation each day starting at 12 noon going through until after 10pm. Run by an enthusiastic owner it has digital projection and excellent sound quality. So good to see such a facility in a small town like Akaroa, it should be supported.

We loved this little movie theatre! We always arrived early to spend some time chatting with David, the owner, a great guy who knows a lot about earthquakes and yes, movies. There's a little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and two small movie theaters with very plush, comfortable seating. You can hang out here and hook into the free wifi from the library which is right next door. Thanks David for your kindness and friendship.

Perfect for those rainy holiday days when your looking for something to do. The movies they show aren't the latest releases like of hoyts but there is always a good selection. The theatre is small and quirky, has comfortable seats and very professional. We'll worth a visit.

On Rue Jolie there are many cute landmark buildings. The cinema is small adjacent to the community library. They honor the indigenous natives and write building titles in English and Maori. There are chairs and tables on the terrace as well as meeting rooms. We did not have time to see a movie but the library was focal point and it offered free WiFi to visitors. The password was printed on the side door and a big group gathered to enjoy the internet
