A small museum with both permanent and temporary exhibits. A good place to start is the excellent video (on loop) in the original courthouse next door which gives an excellent history of the town.
We had some time to spend in Akaroa so we wandered the streets and came upon this small but good museum. It was bigger than it seemed, and free to the public. Many artifacts from war and Akaroa history, so much to see.
