Absolutely loved our trip! So exciting to see the dolphins! The music was beautiful & the music in the cave bought a tear to my eye!! Highly recommend. Just need the commentary to be louder.

Fantastic trip if you want a different dolphin watching/boating experience compared to the catamaran competitor. Fox 11 is a genuine 99 year old wooden (NZ rimu) sailing ship originally built for trading around Auckland. Halfway down the harbour up went the sail and we sailed and motored out to the Akaroa harbour and beyond. Great commentary from Captain Roy with his lovely New York Accent. Throughly recommended.

What a fantastic way to spend a day! Our friendly and knowledgeable hosts made the trip enjoyable and interesting. I have been on many similar trips and this one felt the most personal and friendly; more like spending the afternoon on a friend’s boat enjoying offers of wine and hot chocolate. It was an excellent experience for the whole family. I was with a large family group and we were all catered for, from my 3 year old nephew to my 17 year old son.

The trip was relaxing, but a little long. A faster trip home would have been good as it was fairly cold in April by 4pm. The boat was very full, which meant we couldn’t walk around. The commentary was very informative but hard to hear. Warm drinks and jackets were appreciated. Dolphins were amazing to see.Enjoyed the music. Unfortunately someone got seasick.

What a knowledgeable man Roy is. We got to not only hang out on his lovely boat, but really learn about the history of Akaroa. Our minds were blown when he cut the engine to play music and up popped a pod of dolphins. The tea/coffee and biscuits was a lovely touch too. Thoroughly recommend this trip.
