Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This street is well worth a visit. The old buildings really give an wonderful impression of the style of Riga Old Town. There are some lovely restaurants in the vicinity as well.

Over rated and under delivers. Don't make this a destination like I did to find a tattoo shop and a public parking lot at the end with toilets.

This street between Dome Square and Town Hall Square is lined with colorful old buildings and paved with cobblestone. The Art Nouveau Neiburgs Hotel is the most stunning building on this street. You can find also many cafes and restaurants here.

Riga was founded at the beginning of XIII century as the capital of Lavia. German crusaders leaded by archbishop Albert came to Latvia that at that time was inhabited by different tribes and established the city of Riga. I did not find in old city gothic buildings. But Riga preserved many constructions of later times dating back to 16th and 17th centuries. Jauniela street is a vivid example

Jauniela is for sure a very lively street with its winding cobblestone street. This are can lead you into other streets. The street is narrow and I must advice to leave the uncomfortable high heels at home. Please wear comfy cushioned shoes for these roads. Jauniela has lots of charm and many people seem to love this street as well. It just has a lot of charm about it.

This is not much different from the other old town streets. They are narrow, cobbled, lined with souvenir shops and restaurants. I daresay that in summer these have tables outside, but in winter, temperatures around freezing, not a sensible option as the tall buildings shade the road.
Like the rest of the old town, worth just wandering around - not busy - and enjoy the ambience.

We absolutely loved wondering around the area. Such a unique charismatic aura around these small narrow streets. We really enjoyed our walks each night.

Across Riga this is just one of the many streets and areas where you could spend all day wandering around taking in the ambience and stopping to look in the shops and the cafes serving, by and large good coffee. Some lovely buildings and in early December not too crowded.

We stayed at hotel justus in jauniela and were greeted by wonderful facvades as we stepped out each morning.I loved the old cobbled streets, but not so good for the disabled. Buildings are such lovely pastel colours and most are very well restored. this is just behind the Catherdal too.
