Incredible and thrilling escape room in the heart of Ljubljana. THE KEY is an escape room, a very popular worldwide spread entertainment. It requires teamwork, concentration, creativity, communication and observation. 1. DA VINCI & SHERLOCK ROOM: Since Leonardo DaVinci was one of the greatest minds and had many secrets hidden and coded into his creations, he gave us the inspiration for our first room. By visiting us, you will enter into a small part of his life. Your main goal in his room will be to discover the key of his time machine. When you will find it, you will time travel approximately 400 years into the future, to the world of the most famous detective of all times, Sherlock Holmes. You will enter Sherlock's room. The famous detective gave us the inspiration for the second room in this game. Sherlock is known for his careful, logical thinking and ability to adapt to any situation, which always leads to the solution. This room consists of various puzzles, logical connections, hidden objects, which logically follow and lead you towards the final solution, the key, which takes you back to freedom. You have 70 min to escape. If you have a bigger group (10-12 persons) you can play a fun adventure called ''the battle''. 2. WONDERLAND ROOM: The Wonderland theme came to our thoughts, after we've seen how the kids enjoy in our fun activity. We put a lot of effort and energy in designing a truly unique escape room. The adventure starts in a dungeon, from where you proceed to a fairy land. You really have to think out of the box and expect the unexpected. It can be played by kids (8-12 y) or adults, as we have two difficulty levels. We wanted puzzles, enigmas and tasks without any locks, and almost succeded, which makes the Wonderland even more challenging. Come and visit us, and we can assure you an unforgettable experience. We tried both rooms and loved the experience! The Wonderland has very nice visuals and looks really cool and unique. The staff was friendly as well and we walked out with great memories and some pictures to remember the day. :)

The rooms are very interesting and the challenges smart and creative! The staff were extremely friendly and kind! The challenges are in the local language, but can also be converted to English. We would go more often if our stay was for a longer period! We highly recommend! Impermeable for escape room lovers! Thank you for the welcome!

We went to the escape room for my birthday. We played Sherlock and Da Vinci! It was awesome we enjoyed the game! Most of us went to the escape room for the first time, the staff is really friendly and nice!

I've been to several escape rooms before, so I knew what to expect. However, I was very disappointed with the lack of effort put into the room design and the riddles. I don't want to spoil it for others with too many details, but the riddles were too simple and there was very little connection to the themes of the rooms. For example, in the room themed around Da Vinci, there were only his portrait and painting in the room, but no riddle was connected to him. Similarly, in the room themed around Sherlock Holmes, the only things related to him were a pipe and hat. The room was poorly labeled and some items that were labeled as "do not touch" were actually required to solve the riddles. The whole experience was just a bunch of locks and keys that didn't make any sense or have any logical connection. Even the few good riddles that were present seemed to be bought from riddle shops and not original creations. It was clear that very little effort was put into designing the rooms and creating engaging riddles. We escaped but had no satisfaction after.

everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect that. But let me clarify a few things:
1. Our Da Vinci - Sherlock escape room is a classical escape room with good old-fashioned padlocks, hidden objects, and many interesting puzzles that require simple, logical thinking. It doesn't have flashy electronics with electro-magnetic locks cause it was designed on purpose this way and we wanted to create rooms that go well with the theme offering a special experience to our visitors. Also, it is explained to every visitor that this is a classical escape room before starting the game.
2. It does have stickers on objects that are not part of the game, but a few of them have exceptions, and there are specific instructions given during the game, that tell you so. Before the start of the game, every visitor is briefed about it as well.
I respect your opinion that you didn't like the game, however, please do not make lies about not having riddles connected to our themes. Both rooms have amazing puzzles connected to themes and we have been receiving great feedback from visitors on this subject ever since we opened.
If you found the locks and keys that didn't make any sense to you, I'm really sorry, it's the first time anyone commented something like this about any of our rooms.
I can assure you, that we put great effort into designing all of our rooms, to be unique, with elements of high value, and create unforgettable experiences for our visitors.
I know it's impossible to please everyone, however, we are grateful to see that 99,9% of our visitors love our rooms for their design, puzzles, experience, and our service.
Nevertheless, I wish you plenty of escape room games and maybe sometimes you'll realize our Da Vinci - Sherlock wasn't bad at all.

Nice staff and a very good location to combine with a visit to the center of Ljubljana. It is also a nice opportunity to have a teambuilding with coworkers and get to know each other also by playing this game and solving the clues. I highly recommend it to a group of friends and coworkers.

Wonderland is one of the most original rooms I've been to. The room is charming and small, packed with puzzles. We are experienced players, yet we found it to be quite a challenge (still all of the puzzles made sense). We played in a group of five, I would maybe recommend it for smaller groups since the room is small. The owner was very kind and passionate about his work. We had a great time and I would recommend it to anybody 😊

I loved the Da Vinci and Sherlock Holmes rooms. I would recommend them especially to beginners since they are a little bit easier then the other escape rooms in Ljubljana. But still, they are fun and offer many different challenges. I also like the concept of a battle since it offers an unique chance for bigger groups to visit the escape room together. It would be even better if we would get to compare our results at the end to see who won.
The only downside to the whole experience was the staff. While the whole process of getting the reservation was very easy, we got answers to our emails quickly and everybody was really nice and polite, the staff there were not very proffesional. Since we first stepped in, the moderators acted like they were bored and annoyed by us, which made us feel a little bit unwelcome. There were also some problems with the room preparing which they quite rudely blamed us for. From the other reviews I presume (hope) that something like this usually does not happen.
Thankfully, the staff does not influence the escape room experience that much and we still got to have a really great time(:

We visited the Wonderland Escaperoom, and it was not that will carried out compared to other rooms.
It was hard in a non intuitive way, so they constantly helped us even if we did not ask for help. Then we finished in 40 minutes instead of 1 hour. That really ruined the experience for me.
Also a lot of the decor was very fragile and you were not allowed to touch it, it was actually a bit damaged everywhere already. Still you had to search for hidden items in the room. Hard when we were asked got to touch things several times. Stop we got even more help where to search so that we didn't have to touch the rest. 🙃
Also, several things were broken and they had to manually bypass some parts.

thank you for your review. Our Wonderland is a second-generation ER and is not an easy room, on the contrary, it's quite a challenge, as it requires thinking out of the box. Our gamemasters try to give as few hints as possible, so I'm sorry if they helped you too much. The beginning is harder than the second part, and sometimes it happened that the group struggles at first and then stormes through the second room.
True, some ornaments are fragile and we specifically ask each group not to touch them, as they are not part of the game. We know, that players get sucked into the game, so we warn them if they keep touching them. Unfortunately many times those items get broken anyway. We really put a lot of effort into designing the room, so that's why we have them. If things get broken, we fix them asap.
We have puzzles that are based on electro-magnets and yes, sometimes they don't cooperate. For cases like that we can bypass them, so you can continue your game. It doesn't happen often, but unfortunately, it happened during your game, for which I apologize.

Myself, my two cousins, and a friend decided to go on a short vacation to Tolmin. On our way down we stopped in Ljubljana to get a drink and see if there are any indoor activities we could try out. We found The Key Escape room as one of the options and as it was the closest we decided to give it a shot. We arrived 15 minutes after they opened at around 13:45 without prior reservation which was entirely our fault, but the staff was kind enough to allow us to take part in one of their rooms despite this.
We were given the chance to try out the DaVinci / Sherlock Holmes room which lasts about 70 minutes. The room is not too hard, but it's still a good challenge for newcomers. We, unfortunately, did not manage to finish in the given time, but the staff was kind enough to give us an additional five minutes with more help from their side and we managed to complete it. It was an overall extremely fun experience and I highly suggest everyone tries it out.
The staff is extremely helpful and nice while also attentive to what is happening inside the room when it is occupied. They give out hints when required and don't spoil it too much.

TheKey is an escape room here in Ljubljana and it's very popular activity now. We accept up to 2-5 people that can play this live escape game. We lock you in the room and you have 70. minutes to get out, solve the puzzles, enigmas and find the secret locks, key etc...So the key of the game is to escape from the rooms before the time ends.
