The perfect wine tour
Jun 2021 • Couples
What a great place - full of beauty and piece! And what a great tour we got - just perfect full tour of the wine yard, the facilities, the process explanation and of course great wine tasting! We tried 5 different reds, all are great. And if you are lucky you might try their Pinot Noir - but you should be i a great luck as that one is a rare guest ;-) we defiantly will be back! Thank you!

Quaint place & special experience!
Dec 2019
This afternoon, I had the pleasure of meeting Araceli and Martin, a couple who own a small organic vineyard, Bodega Kieninger, outside of Ronda. Araceli invited me to stop by this early evening, knowing I was only one person and couldn’t make it until well after typical visiting hours. I was able to visit and spend one-on-one time with her, as she kindly walked me around and explained much of the history, grapes, and methodology.

Her husband Martin, born and raised in Austria, relocated here to the Ronda area and turned his hobby of winemaking into a full-time affair. Their vineyard is fully organic, relying on methods such as fermented milk and mites to tackle problems such as fungus and spiders. They produce around 10,000 bottles a year (compared to Doña Felisa, around 175,000), and they utilize grapes from Austria, France, and Spain.

One my favorite things is the fact that they named their wine white after one of their dogs, Blanco, who they rescued two years ago (pictured below, obviously).
I really enjoyed their wine (well actually all of their wines, but this one especially), their 2015 “7 Vines”, which is a blend of two kinds of Austrian grapes: Blaufraenkisch and Zweigelt. And yes, of course, I left with some good bottles to take home.

Amazing wine & authentic tour
Nov 2019 • Couples
We visited the winery as part of our second wedding anniversary celebrations and were very impressed. We were greeted by Aracelli and adorable winery dog Blanco. We had a tour of their family-run winery, and learned a lot in the process. We then went into the cave and tasted four of their reds. Every wine was incredible, some of the best we've ever tasted. We were provided with snacks and talked through the process of each wine.
We purchased two bottles, which were very reasonable priced, and Aracelli offer to even drive us back to the hotel but we had a cab booked, so she called the driver for us.
I would highly recommend visiting, it's a small business, very authentic, and every wine they produce has a beautiful story.

Do you ever fantasize about having an own vineyard? This mystique place is exactly what we imagined it would be. We had a great tour in their organic vineyard and tasted most of their great wines. We even tasted the grapes for harvesting. if you are interested in the whole process until the wine is made and.a very personal touch we highly recommend this tour.

This place rocks!!

The tour guide was very informative and spoke great English! She showed us the whole winery, which was huge but had much to offer. Upon arriving you will be greeted by Blanco, the winery puppy! He’s adorable and very friendly, then there’s Rocco who is also very friendly and a BIG boy. We went with a family of 5, and wished we came earlier that week! The wine is so fresh and I love how local and homey it feels! Can’t say enough how great the tour guide was, she did an amazing Job! Salud

Great wine tasting experience!

Today we had a great wine tour & tasting at Bodega Kieninger from Ms. Araceli.
It is not a commercial vineyard, but very idyllic, in beautiful surroundings. The bodega is a 15 minute drive from the city of Ronda and well worth a visit. You get value for money :).

Herr Kieninger is a true gentleman and scholar. Martin was gracious with his time and explanation on his varietals and how they differ from the other local vineyards . Great experience and look forward to visiting again in the near future,
