About
We will be closed for Christmas day, Boxing Day, New Years day and the 2nd of January 2020. The Millton Vineyard’s three individual Gisborne vineyards; Opou, Te Arai and the Clos de Ste. Anne are located in Manutuke. The unique character of the appellation is its proximity to the influence of the Pacific Ocean together with the geologically youthful sedimentary soils. Cooling sea breezes keep the climate friendly and temperate in high summer. Traditional viticulture is practiced in all vineyards and all are dry-farmed, with no insecticide, herbicide, systemic fungicide or soluble fertilisers used.

Amazing wines and setting
Jan 2021
We loved this little winery and wines and loved our visit. Great wines; amazing tasting; and wonderful settings. Even some racquets, balls and grounds to keep the kids amused. Sending 12 bottles home and will be ordering more. So glad we visited

Wow - so impressed

Small and really authentic winery experience. Had a tasing and really enjoyed the vino and local knowledge shared. There was a family picnic day and it felt so welcoming and casual. The chardonnay was world class. Also try the Chenin blanc. Could have spent all afternoon there.

Perfunctory and passionless
Sep 2020 • Couples
We have been huge fans of Millton wines for years and this was to be the highlight of our Gisborne trip...unfortunately not to be. Our tasting was an anticlimax. Annie mentioned how busy they were and how she wished we’d all go away. We realise Covid has been a blight for many industries and times are tough for many many people...however, why would you give such an impatient, rushed, passionless experience for two people who truly loved your wine? Go figure. Needless to say, there’s plenty more delicious nz wine to try and we won’t be spending another cent on Millton. A huge disappointment.

Some delicious wines
Feb 2020
An organic vineyard that clearly has a lot of passion for its product. Quite understated compared to some other cellar doors we have visited, but the wine tasting was delivered with plenty of background information about history, process, ambition and terroir.
Purchased a viognier and the red blend. Both delicious in my opinion.

Lovely Cellar Door and Wines.

Most engaging cellar door manager, demonstrating great knowledge of the wines and area. Tasting flight across the range of wines available deducted from price of wines purchased.

Great summers morning visit
Jan 2020
Had friends visit and sat in the shade and enjoyed the great wine and cabinet food nibbles. The children had lots to do with some toys provided for them. Great place to sit and chat and drink amazing wines...

Tasting the East Coast wines
Dec 2019 • Family
We stopped in to this very funky winery today, really cool place and would be amazing to stop and enjoy the outdoor area. Excellent wines and the tasting was awesome, we had a lovely lady tell us about the wines, their history and her knowledge was next to none. Recommend stopping in and tasting then purchasing. Thanks we will be ordering online too 😊
