Go to Jurassic Ridge and spend some time with the winemaker - learn about the geology, the soil, and the vines that make this wine taste so great. At the recommendation of another winemaker, we walked right past Mudbrick and went here, and so glad...More

This winery has great potential, maybe the best wines we tried, but the owner should invest in help. He might sell more. It is neat to meet the owners when they are happy. I can’t say that he was. He is 76 and said in...More

Genuinely small vineyard with a passionate owner making slow wines. They tasted totally different to wines from the same grape from more mass producers due to how long they’re aged and a lack of chemicals. We tried a Pinot Grigio blush, Sauvignon blanc, Montepulciano, Cab...More

Jurassic Ridge was one of four vineyards that we visited during a day on Waiheke island. Easily our favourite of the day, delicious wine and a great tasting experience. We'll be back!

Lance has a good story to tell. The wine is very good. The story is good too. The storytelling needs some work. The customer experience is a bit unusual with quite a lot of put downs if you mispronounce Italian words or don’t know much...More

Our tasting at Jurassic Ridge Winery, was conducted by its colorful geologist/neurologist “founder, viticulturist, winemaker, cellar door pourer, sales manager, tractor driver and odd-job man,” Lance Blumhardt. The vines of Jurassic Ridge are planted atop 155 million-year-old rock formations which gradually break down, giving the...More

I've been meaning to post this review for a while now as the visit to Jurassic Ridge made a big impression on me - mainly along the lines of "how not to conduct a visitor experience". Its a lovely place, nice setting, very nice wine,...More
