There's no need to buy the tickets online, its easier to buy from there direct cz that way you'll be flexible with the time you choose for the tour and tho it may look crowded most of the crowd just hang around outside for... More

Yes it should be open, The website also doesn't mention anything about closure for the holidays, but I advice to go very early as it will be most likely an extremely busy day....
