Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A nice beach to wander along - great for an early morning stroll before the crowds arrive (which they may well do during the summer school holidays).
The beach itself has a nice gentle curve to it. You can saunter along the snad itself or stay up on the smooth path which would obviously suit less fit/mobile people. If you go towards the western end there are some nice vantage points to take some shots back towards the beach to the east.

Great beach with a protected surf life saver patrolled section at the western end. Long stretch of sand but limited parking on hot days. Very popular with dog walkers.

Beautiful beach with relatively calm waves. Great for body boarding and swimming. Was busy when we went but it didn’t disrupt our enjoyment

One of the world’s finest town beaches.
Beautiful, family-friendly yet can surf, and a magic curve shape with point.
Never tire of visiting with family in any Victorian season.
Noosa-like yet prettier (bugger the lower temp).

Lorne has always been a favourite of ours and which we have stayed at several times . One of many beautiful coastal towns along the Great Ocean Road. Very popular and vibrant during holiday season and can get hectic. If you don't like the crowds then definitely suggest going off season. Beautiful beaches, ample selection of eating venues and cuisines and shopping precinct. Ideal base from which you can visit other attractions providing varied experiences and activities for the whole family. Do your homework for accommodation options. Won't disappoint, you and the kids will love it and the views are amazing!

My wife and I visited Lorne during our recent holiday in Torquay where we stayed at The Sands Golf Resort for two nights.
We drove from Torquay to Lorne, making several stops along the drive to visit a few places. When we got to Lorne, we parked near the Visitor centre and walked along the beach to Lorne Pier and back again, to enjoy the scenic views, exercise, sunshine and fresh air.

Sept 2022 • Family
Our family holiday to Lorne is September was disappointing. During the school holiday period most of the retail stores were closed whilst others chose to operate reduced working hours. Getting a simple coffee proved challenging - one cafe was "too busy" to make us a coffee, whilst another insisted we wait for 15 mins until their queue of patrons dissappaited. You'd expect better customer service from a small town with big prices.

Clean sand and blue water, great walking beach but in July far to cold to swim although there were people doing so.
