Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hidden gem. The usual route is very short and ok for kids. I went with a group and went up the long way and then down to the beach and return to extend the walk to 11km. Not signposted at all and there are a few tracks to get up. You hardly come across any other people so is a great place to walk and unwind. Nice views at the top.

Part of the Noosa National Park, the entrance to the walk is right across from Coolum State High School and is a bit confusing because it doesn’t seem like you can access it but you can. There are a few trails, we entered by trail 2 which is an easy inclined walk. It took just over 10 minutes to get to the summit and what a stunning surprise that was! We were treated to 360° views including up the coast of Coolum to the right and the hinterland to the back. I think I just found my new local. The summit is 71m and is a 1.6km round trip, perfect to do with kids too. There were only another couple and a family coming down while I went. So it’s another great alternative to the packed Mount Coolum hike if you're after the views.

This is a nice little walk that allows you to get back to nature. Not many people do it and so you are along most of the time, with the reward of a great view of Coolum and the coast when you get to the top. Takes about 20-25 minutes to get to the top with an easy walk.

This is a nice easy climb for all ages. Great spot to watch the sunrise or sunset. View over coolum and north to noosa. Watch the whales during September and October.

I enjoy the walk up Emu Mountain. It is a stroll that will get your heart rate up and enlighten your visual senses from the top with the coastline stretching from Coolum Beach to Noosa Heads.

We love this walk; it's easy enough for most ages and a good track with mostly hard footing. There are a few loose stones to look out for but in 15 minutes you're looking at a huge swathe of coast and bush and hinterland; really rewarding for the short time it takes to climb.

To be honest, hubby and I wanted to walk Emu Mountain as its not overloaded with tourists or fitness fanatics like Mt Coolum is.
The views are stunning, especially during whale season. The walk is easier and much safer for the whole family. Sitting and enjoying the mountain is also very pleasant. Great space for meditating and photos.

This is not a huge climb like Mount Coolum. It is a steady rise and we see many ages doing it. The views are still very good. Perfect for sunsets. The western view is very good. There are several option for getting up and down as there are tracks leading over the mountain and down the back side of it. The wildflowers are just magic with several species only seen on Emu Mountain.
