One of the best Museums we have visited in years. A 'must see' if you are in the area and plenty to keep you occupied for ages. Fascinating insight into the history of the area and town ....

This is certainly worth visiting. The displays are varied and interesting, with items to attract adults and children alike. If you want to stop to read about and ponder all of the exhibits, allow a couple of hours for this. Good value for the admission...More

Travel to Arrowtown via your own vehicle or use Connectabus which runs a scheduled service from Queenstown. The surprisingly extensive museum complex is set around 3 historical buildings including the town’s original bank. The exhibits present an authentic picture of early Maori, the harsh pioneering...More

This museum is very well presented in both exhibits and information. Well worth a visit to learn about the area, its beginnings and past and to see how it has developed into the town it is today. Great for kids too for school projects.

Hi, I visited Arrowtown in early of May and sent two postcards to my home country from the post office opposite to the Museum. There was no postmark on the post cards, may I know why? I asked because understand the "post office" is run by the Lakes District Museum. Thank you.
