Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

being local for many years and a supporter of the Warbirds over those and many more years I too the time to go to their last open day.
An amazing collection of machines and aircraft all maintained/restored by meticulous men and woman who work tirelessly to ensure people like me can still see their charges flying, so many years after they done their duty/time in the air.
Thanks Warbirds, keep em flying, please.

Fantastic experience visiting the NZ Warbird hangers at Ardmore Airport, approx 40 min from Central Auckland. Two hangers full of historic aircraft (including WW1 aircraft). Informative and some great stories associated with the aircraft and air-men/women. Meanwhile just outside the hangers were several Harvard taking off.
Two cafes close by overlooking the runway.

I bought a flight in a Spitfire to celebrate my husband achieving 11000 hours of helicopter time. We headed up to Ardmore with friends and watched in awe as he headed off with Captain Liz into the wide blue yonder.
Perfectly presented and introduced to us by an incredibly knowledgable team. It's hard to believe that Ben and the boys are volunteers, but I suppose everyone wants to be around this beautiful machine.
The team gave a great briefing and the flight was awesome including barrel rolls around fluffy clouds and a short time at the controls. One very happy pilot returned to base grinning from ear to ear and set to record some Spitfire time in his logbook.
While the pilots were away we looked around the nearby Warbirds museum and the time literally flew by.
Thanks to everyone at NZ Warbirds who were faultless in their dealings from booking through to organising around the weather and then the actual day.
If you have an enthusiast in your family dont hesitate to treat them to this once in a lifetime trip, it's amazing.

Fantastic opportunity to get up close to some of the icons of New Zealand’s aviation history - with the majority being flyable examples. Knowable guides to fill in any gaps in your own knowledge. Topped off by an amazing scale model collection.

NZ Warbirds have developed a great facility at Ardmore airport...an hour out of Auckland set in lovely countryside and well worth the visit. We live nearby and are so lucky to have this onhand....a great range of WW1 and WW2 aircraft...lovingly restored and in flying condition. There are two busy hangars and volunteer guides on hand to tell you the stories behind the aircraft...and a photographic gallery that brings it all to life. The plans are beautiful, and on open days there are air shows and other events to enjoy. We loved our recent visit and its firmly on our visitors calendar...Top recommend...:)

Incredible place to visit, such a rare opportunity to see these aircraft flying. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and took time to escort us to a second hanger full of working WWI aircraft. The Harvard’s, Spitfire and Isaacs Fury all flew. There’s a cafe at the airfield for coffee and lunch. Highly recommended visit.
