Called with a group for a tasting and later a platter in the restaurant. Doug introduced himself and gave us a history of the winery and wines. He then took us through the tasting process with 4 or 5 whites and 4 reds. My wife and I are red drinkers so the whites didn't do a lot for us (although... More

We arrived late in the afternoon, but the gentleman who met us couldn't have been more helpful and really took his time to explain aspects of various grapes and wines. There were so many to try! I am a white wine drinker and my husband drinks red. The wine tasting is $5 each for 3 wines, and having asked us... More

Visited for lunch. The set lunch was a bargin at $25-29. The food was delicious, staff were fantastic, and the venue outside under the vines cool on a hot day. We also did the tasting when even the top bottles were available to taste. We received lots of information about the wines and left with a few to take home.... More

Once again a beautiful dinner with my partner followed by lunch the next day with the whole family. The set lunch is delicious and very reasonably priced with something for everyone.

We called into Vidal after experiencing a very rude lady at another vineyard and were met by a very friendly man who was more than happy to see us! He was very knowledgeable about all of the wines (which there are many to try!) and happy to answer all of our questions. The wines are all fabulous and there is... More

Doug knows his stuff and isn't there just to pour samples of wine...Doug made us welcome and spoke passionately about Vidal Estate and the wines produced by this company. He may be self-taught but what he doesn't know about Vidal isn't worth knowing. Doug spoke about each wine in detail as we were interested... he made us feel so welcome... More

Small but good vineyard. The cellar door is small and personal. When I went, there was no one else there which made my experience even better. My wife and I were given great service and attention to our likes. The man that helped us opened there nicer bottles for us too try and Due to that fact I was able... More

My wife and I had been wine tasting our way through NZ and we enjoyed this visit the most. The staff, notably Michelle, was friendly, knowledgable , enthusiastic and helpful. She was just so happy to share information and happier if we liked any of the wine she poured. A most enjoyable and fun visit. BTW we liked the wines... More
