It’s a small museum but has some modern touches with videos and projections. Lots of really interesting history and a large model ship.

Lovely little Museum set between The Strand and York Street, featuring local artifacts and history, a must for all visitors to this gorgeous and historic little town. Very reasonable fee, small souvenir shop and lovely grounds. Make sure you explore the exterior too, the gardens are well kept and incorporate the remains of the cottage of Tamaki Waka Nene, one of Northlands most respected chieftains.…
