Kelly was very informative and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed this little trip up to Flagstaff Hill after my Hole in the Rock Cruise with Explore.

A nice way to see Russell and some of the more distant parts of the peninsula. Worth the walk if you took the ferry over. Not a nature walk, basically up a road.

the beach track will get your feet wet unless low tide. lot of rock hopping but very pleasant and you can have many beaches to yourself

Russell Island is across the bay in the Bay of Islands where the first British flag was raised after the Treaty of Waitangi was signed. It was here where weka birds could be found in the parking lot.

This walk was lovely, we walked up to the top through the streets of Russell and return to the wharf via the bush. I throughly enjoyed this walk and the sights it had to offer. A must do if you are in Russell

No mucking about - this is a solid climb up from Russell, taking about 20 minutes depending on your speed. We did it with young kids so it's easily achievable. But the views from the top are amazing - 360 degrees over the entire Bay...More

Great place with a spectacular view of Russell and its surroundings. For a place that is free of charge the views are simply incredible. The only thing is you need transport to get there as it's a fair walk from Russell town.

You can get close by road. Go up the very steep Flagstaff Rd and at a crest you go left up a narrow road to very close but a short walk to the great view over the bays.
