For a Queenslander, it is very unusual to stand on a beach and look up at snow capped mountains. The beach was clean and populated by many visitors. The water was cool and not a comfortable temperature for swimming.

This is a beautiful accessible white sand beach with what appears to be safe swimming. Great views and warm water by New Zealand standards.

Beautiful warm weather and the warmest beach water we have ever experienced. Thinking of heading there for another holiday.

Beautiful beach and great size as plenty of room for all and their dog there. Parking was very close and for those that walked it was close to many motels and camping ground. Water was warm and the sand area expansive and clean. Plenty of...More

Visited in the windy cool October days but the facilities and accessibility look like they would be packed and busy in the summer months. Plenty of space for the kids to run round both on and off the beach.

It's not allowed to being you fury family members to the main beach, but the back beach is beautiful enough to take your buddy for a swim, a walk on the beach and meet other dogs. Our little one loved it and so did we!

This beach is just gorgeous! It is long with a gentle slope and sparkling white sands. It is popular in the summer but never seems to get super-crowded. It is very safe and suitable for kids of all ages.

It's getting into winter so you need to be prepared for that with a heater if you are in a camper van and some warm clothes. Still plenty going on. sunny but cold nights.
