Visited in the windy cool October days but the facilities and accessibility look like they would be packed and busy in the summer months. Plenty of space for the kids to run round both on and off the beach.

It's not allowed to being you fury family members to the main beach, but the back beach is beautiful enough to take your buddy for a swim, a walk on the beach and meet other dogs. Our little one loved it and so did we!

This beach is just gorgeous! It is long with a gentle slope and sparkling white sands. It is popular in the summer but never seems to get super-crowded. It is very safe and suitable for kids of all ages.

A beautiful, sandy beach with wonderful views of the mountains. Great facilities for families right next to the beach. A lovely place to walk, play, picnic. Dog-free at the Tahunanui end and a wonderful 'dog beach' at the other end.

In the carpark there's plenty of parking and some mobility park spots also. We like to look out to sea and take in the scenery regardless of the day and weather. A favorite spot of ours to eat our fish and chips before heading home....More

...and it's still nice and clean and unspoiled. Never disappoints. Been a part of my life...from family holidays as a kid from 1968 onwards......whether living in Christchurch, the UK or Melbourne, it's still sensational to come back to.

It's getting into winter so you need to be prepared for that with a heater if you are in a camper van and some warm clothes. Still plenty going on. sunny but cold nights.
