The Saturday market is a busy place but has a nice laid back atmosphere. Vendors do not do hard sells when you are browsing around which is very nice. You can also purchase food there. Bring $ and spend some time mingling with the locals!

Spent a lovely couple of hours wandering around the markets. Lots of interesting stalls to visit, in the middle of town. easy parking in neighbouring streets.

and it was raining but still, good value , great stuff not like the junky ones in Auckland. I could have bought loads more if i was living here

Breakfast at the wee caravan near Briscoes, where the coffee is great and the Dutch fruity spiced doughnuts are amasing. Then wonder around the stalls taking your time to look at everything. Take money!
