Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed watching the White Ferns play Pakistan earlier this year. Its great to be close to the action - but be prepared to take some form of sun shade with you. As this is a fairly new ground, the trees have not matured yet.

Watched the ODI match between the Blackcaps and Bangladesh...nice chill area to watch a match...food and beer are reasonably priced although not much variety is offered...

We were here for the Home Show, they also had a circus set up on the circus green, sports fields in full action (Saturday morning sports going on), and they have stadiums for a number of different sports, table tennis was one! This is definately a serious set up. Easy to get to from the road between Richmond and Stoke, well sign posted.

I just love Saxtons cricket ground. It reminds me of the Basin Reserve in Wellington with the white picket fence around it. The view from any angle is always good, and you seem so close to the players from wherever you sit. Well done Saxtons Oval, it is an awesome facility for our region, and hope for more International games here in the future as well as National games too!

The pitch looked amazing. Shame there are no covered stands as it can be very hot. However, if you are lucky enough to to be on the western side the afternoon sun isn't too bad behind you and there is shade from the stands if you sit on the grass.

A lovely ground with easy access to watch a game of cricket.
Well attended with nearly six thousand watching.
Let down big time by some ones decision to charge NZ$2 deposit for plastic drinks mug for your beer or wine per mug (as happens at many grounds/venues around the world), and then a refusal to return the deposits at the end of the game.”keep at as a souvenir”, I was advised.
On taking the principal up with The Nelson Cricket Association I was advised that I should have been told that the NZ$2 was a donation to the Junior Cricket association. Had no problem with the sentiment here, but a plastic cup that stated on it that it was returnable, reusable etc., and take one heck of a long to degrade in landfill, was non sensible to put it mildly.
Shame.

2nd time here , great complex for families to watch their kids play sports. Needs more disabled parking though. Grounds in good condition. Toilet needs a bit of freshen up but that’s the only real issue we found

Each week I attend a Tai Chi class in the netball stadium. The drive in through other areas include the international cricket grounds with an amazing pavillion. Beautiful trees landscape the area with a paved walking/cyle tract through the grounds. There is also a stadium for indoor events.
