Even if the weather almost didn't let us take off, the pilot kept us updated during the morning and we were able to fly finally a few hours later. He was super nice and gave us lots of useful information about the LOTR visit we were doing. Amazing experience, I recommend it to anyone!

We had a wonderful tour of the coast between Nelson & Abel Tasman, with enough ground time for a short walk on the beach & a light meal at the Awaroa Lodge. Quite a different perspective than when I last hiked the trail many years ago :-)
Pilots were professional yet friendly, offering local color commentary & patiently answering questions - would love to return on a future visit!

First time in a helicopter, and so glad my partner chose the local operators, Helicopters Nelson, for a private charter along the coastline and including the Abel Tasman National Park. The only way to see some of the great scenery of the area, especially in the front seats.
All professional, friendly people, and our pilot Charlie made us both feel relaxed, along with some great conversation. An absolutely amazing experience for life.

We took a tour with Helicopters Nelson in early March 2023.
The staff, and pilot, were friendly, helpful and easy to deal with.
The flight was great and the scenery was, as you would expect, beautiful.
Highly recommended.

This was easily one of the best experiences we’ve had in our lives. Would give it another star if I could. We lucked out with weather. Steve was a fantastic pilot even with some wind gusts. Knowledgeable, patient with our time at landing locations, and kept it safe and enjoyable for all. The feeling you get on Mount Olympus, Mount Owen, and the HUGE National Park is surreal. As safety weight allows, they let you rotate seats so you can get a turn in front, but views are great regardless. Will never forget this experience!

Absolutely incredible service from the team at Nelson Helicopters, especially Sylvie and Charlie! The whole team went above and beyond from start to finish for this bespoke heli trip for my best friends birthday. It was such a magical trip!

Right from the start of booking our flight with Sylvie we knew we were in good hands! Positive, professionail, friendly service. We were booked to fly on Wednesday however the weather wasn’t the greatest so we were able to move it to Friday, glad we did! Charlie was our pilot, very professional with a top personality and great sense of humour. My fiancé, our son and myself chose to fly from Nelson landing in Awaroa near the lodge for lunch. We enjoyed a nice walk while there and some time/swim on the beach before flying back to Nelson. Beautiful flight, stunning views, we felt safe the entire time. We all thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend Helicopters Nelson. We will definitely return. Thanks guys!

Our trip out with Toby was superb. Even the views from the hill top heliport were stunning before we started but once we were airborne for our mountain top trip, the vista was truly breath taking. We enjoyed a welcome hot drink on the very top of Ben Nevis as we took in the amazing panorama all around us. An amazing trip and highly recommended for a special occasion.

It's a must, beautiful scenic vistas - and takes you right back to when you saw it in the movie! Yes, you have to go to Hobbiton too, but this shouldn't be missed.

My wife and I are planning a trip to New Zealand in March. We want to take a heli tour of the LOTR sites. Reid has one to Mt. Owen and one to Mt. Olympus. If you could not take the Combo, which of the sites has the best experience?

Thanks for getting in touch. Both of the sites are truly spectacular, but if we had to pick one we would suggest Mt Olympus, 'South of Rivendell.' A great scene in the movie!

Hi, I'm thinking about taking a helicopter flight while I'm in Nelson next month - what was the cost per person for your flights? The Reid site only shows the price for one of their options.
