Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had some wine and the cheese platter and was very pleasant. I think that the Pinot and Sauv Blanc are quite acceptable, although some of the others are a bit average.

It's a nice little area that could so with some attention to detail, but I have have had much worse wine and much much worse cheese platters. If you are passing by, why not.

As a singular destination - and it does not pretend to be one- not so sure.

We had booked to visit the little wine shop for a platter and tasting..my husbands birthday.after a 25 min drive arrived to find any dry areas to sit unavailable,it was drizzling slightly.person running the show flippant and a tad smart.very off putting.pretty sure they were the owner...sad as clearly not NZ nationals, not the sort of service to build confidence in local residents for sure......
No thanks we didn't want to share a table with tourists and no umbrellas over tables,so that was that.person behind counter said they'd re book us for the next weekend.yes we did book,However left very put off.
#1 get large umbrellas,or how you cope in Nelson's summer.
#2 look after locals,as we are the ones who keep places going over winter.
We were made to feel small and difficult.

We had a lovely time here tasting wines, learning about the Milcrest process, and even walking among the vineyards. We bought a bottle to carry away on our cycle tour. What fun!

A lovely girl did our tastings, she made it a fantastic experience, very informative, yet not pushy. We enjoyed all of the wines, which were free to taste as we bought a couple of bottles. My favourite was the PInot Gris. We'll be back, thank you.

We headed on the Great Taste Trail and ended up here and this fantastic little winery!

We had the big platter for two of us and it was perfect - the right amount of food and all really tasty. Carmen was in charge that day and was fantastic. She had to deal with some less than ideal customers(just plain rude!!!) while we were there, but she kept smiling and the tasting was great :)

The Sav and the Pinot Gris were our favourites but the reds were pretty top notch too, so we were not disappointed with the Pinot Noir!

Highly recommended if you want a great little winery, relaxed kiwi vibes and good food and wine!

Best tasting experience we have had in Nelson ever. There red wines are superb. When we stopped we were looking for a good red to drink with friends that night. Our Italian friends were amazed to find Italian varietals made really well. In the end the tasting was a 3 way draw so we left with one of each and 2 whites. Highly recommended.

On a sunny day it was sublime. Platters very good although probably aimed at older and smaller appetites! Service great. Will visit again.

We've visited 11 wineries as part of a tour of Marlborough and Nelson and this one was amongst the best. The wine was exceptional, the setting was stunning, and the host Carmen was by far the most fun and informative host of all the places we visited. It was refreshing to visit a winery that was so relaxed and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit and highly recommend the wine!

People! !! Time to find the hidden gems. This is it. Slightly off the great taste cycle trail but only a little detour. Easy car ride from nelson. Rustic friendly rural nz. We enjoyed the pinot gris and chardonnay in particular boutique vineyards can be better ! Simple platters served without pretence but honesty and humbly. Take a detour. And trippies review this one..its one others will find enchanting.

We are so pleased that we discovered this wee gem of a winery. Tastings were $5 but free if you purchase wine. We tasted 5 wines and they were all special. I finally discovered a Pinot Gris that I can enjoy. They also produce a few different grape varieties not so common in New Zealand. We didn't order a platter as we had just eaten but they appeared generous and interesting. Carmen our hostess was extremely friendly and welcoming. The setting is simple and rustic but the wine is brilliant. We will be back.
