A great experience. All made possible by the professional and friendly team at Southern Latitude Guides. Highly recommend Hans as a guide this guy can spot fish in difficult conditions which made our trip very successful. He started off as guide and we left as friends. Thank you all At Southern Latitude Guides.

A beautiful day on the water with Jim! So knowledgeable about techniques and country plus an excellent trout hunter. Southern Latitude scrambled to help us out on a last minute booking and weâre so appreciative. Canât wait to go back!!

Had an amazing day with Hans out on various rivers around Nelson. I have fished with many guides around the world and have come across very few as knowledgeable and passionate as Hans. Stalking elusive Browns in these rivers is no joke. It felt like teeing off the championship tees for a 20 handicapâr. Hans put me in front of plenty of fish though and we landed some beauties.
Amazing fishery, amazing scenery, amazing guide, amazing day.

Terrific day on a great river with Manny.
He provided everything from gear and waders to lunch and snacks. Caught some nice browns in gin clear water. Quite a thrill! Recommend to anyone on a driving tour of the South Island

My wife and I had the privilege of fishing with Hans, who came highly recommended from a friend. We had never fished in New Zealand before and Hans was very patient and helpful with his instructions for helping us maximize our chances of catching trout. By the end of the day, we had both landed fish (landed 4, hooked 6, fed 8) and he improved our casting skills immensely. Hans was a world class guide for a world class fishery. He helped me land my personal best trout which I will never forget!
Nans deserves her own paragraph alone for her help. She was friendly, prompt, accommodating, and incredibly organized. She is the engine that keeps the machine running smoothly.
We had the fishing trip of a lifetime with Southern Latitude. If we are ever so lucky to return to NZ, we will use them again for sure. Be sure to practice your casting with 18-20ft leaders before and it will pay off immensely if you want to land a fish. New Zealand is a tough fishery and the fish are very exacting, so make that first cast count!

Nans and Mike make a rock solid team! Nans attention to all the pre-trip details, emails, logistics, along with the delicious trip food was flawless making the entire process fantastic. Mikeâs knowledge base and experience is impressive along with his ability to spot fish and communicate and teach the skills that are required on this trip of a lifetime. His equally strong photography skills combined with great gear makes this fantastic trip start to finish a premium experience.

First of all I want to give a big shout out to Nans for organizing everything for me to make this trip happen and being very informative with everything required and provided in terms of equipment, not to mention the food packed for the trip is top notch! Mike is the most respected angler for knowledge and highly skilled with the micro details in everything to do with fly fishing I could wish to learn from. It was such a valuable experience for myself spending a couple of days on the river with an excellent Guide. His willingness to try and get the best out of you by maintaining a positive attitude throughout, even during some tricky situations on the water such as the highs and lows of fly fishing were spot on. Highly recommended!

Had a couple of great days fishing with Hans. The aim was to get dad - whoâs new to fly fishing - hooked. Hans carefully picked the right rivers for skill level/conditions and was very generous with tips/advice. Amazing at spotting fish and very patient. Dad had his first NZ trout in the net by lunch on day 1 and plenty caught over the two days.
