We hired mountain E bikes for one hour they are so amazing and in the hour we rode up to where the skywire leaves from , high up with beautiful views. It is so easy to go up hill very little effort we chose to go on the vehicle track still beautiful through the bush.there are various single bike tracks for the more skilled but not us. A very fun thing to do in one hour.

My friend and I really enjoyed the Quadricycle forest ride. We have rented two Quad bikes, but my friend suddenly realised with her fear on bikes, The guide offered us a choice of getting one quad bike with a passenger seat at the back, but then I wasn’t confident enough during the practice. So we had offered another choice to a Quadricycle I think its called.

We also did enjoy the 15 mins. Skywire experience.

📍 I would highly recommend these fun activities to anyone as you will surely have an amazing experience. This is also good for family.

* The lady guide (I forgot her name) was very professional, friendly and helpful

* Shannon was also very friendly and even offered us a free ride back to the hotel which was great.

* In addition, we were happy to offered an $80 refund for the use of one bike only.

Overall staff are highly professional, friendly and very helpful.

Great Enduro MTB park, not for the novice rider. Grade 4/5 tracks which are more like grade 5/6 +. Shuttles are recommended but if you’re mental enough you can pedal, it would take an hour to get to the top which is farm road quickly turning into rocks. Unless you’re mega fit, pay for some shuttles, 3 would be half a day and you still have to do some uphill anyway. Staff are awesome and friendly. There’s a lovely cafe for lunch with craft beers and hot chips, the chef was super friendly and loved saying hi to our dogs (no dogs on trails). Highly recommended place for a gnarly ride.

We paid $394 AU to go Quad biking, & a quick whip down the skywire. I have to say... having done this several times in Aus & NZ. You rate poorly for us. I ride bikes and the guide knew this. There was no FUN, at 15 k's an hour even in the so called "Fun Area" it was extremely disappointing! When I took off over the humps at the end, it was great. No amount of wolf whistling would have got me back. I wanted FUN! Very disappointing. Don't waste your money. Go elsewhere. Sorry guys. That was our experience.

Sorry to hear our trip rated so low for you. We do our best to set the expectation for this trip as being a scenic trip - it is definitely not billed as a fast trip and this is highlighted at the check in and in the briefings. We would prefer to refund people who arrive with a different expectation than what the tour entails rather than them go out and be disappointed. I can certainly appreciate that the tours are slow for experienced riders but our overriding priority has to be our clients safety and we have no way to validate some ones experience prior to arriving at the park - and have seen several instances of so called experienced riders having entry level issues in the past which would have put themselves in quite significant danger if the tour speed had been higher. If someone is experienced there is also no way we could run a tour within any realistic safety parameters that will ever be fast enough for experienced riders looking for a thrill seeking experience. The reality is quad bikes can be extremely dangerous for even experienced riders as seen in the numerous fatalities on farms each year and as a tourist operation where the majority of our clients have no or minimal experience on a quad bike, we have to develop our parameters around keeping people safe. Once again sorry to hear that the experience didn't meet expectations.

The network of MTB trails here continues to grow, thanks largely to the amazing volunteers who dig and maintain the trails. Every track is hand-crafted by knowledgeable trail builders who really get the most out of the hillside. The trails range in level from swoopy, fast and fun grade 3s, to technical, rocky grade 5+. What they all share is that they are *fun* to ride. You can tell the builders love to ride, and have put that love into the trails. Highly recommended.

This is an amazing privately owned and run mountain bike park. Everyone that worked there, from reception to kitchen to shuttle drivers were super friendly and helpful.
The tracks are incredibly well made yet still have that natural native feel that you expect from Nelson.
Cablebay is a MTB destination that shouldn't be missed.
BTW the tracks still run great in the rain

Whether I am walking, running or riding the mountain bike, Cable Bay Adventure Park is fantastic, such a great place and a real gem so close to Nelson. Trails are amazing and well maintained, the staff are awesome and the cafe provides top notch kai to get you up the hill or to sit, relax and reflect on the fun as times you have just experienced. I support the team here whenever I get the chance and recommend you do the same!!! Keep up the great work team!!!

Cafe food lacking. Gluten and dairy free salad for $11 was 90% lettuce leaves with little bits of tomato, cucumber, carrot decorated with alfalfa and tiny shavings of parsnip and a dob of hummus....... I'm still hungry.
Husbands panni was dry and chewy and uninspiring.
Coffee was OK and staff pleasant but not the food today. Others days we've visited its been better.

Cable Bay is one of the main attractions north of Nelson, and we were impressed. The guides were fun and accommodating on the quad bike riding, thanks guys.
Then the Skywire ride is pretty cool and in a unique setting. If you are looking to really scare yourself, sure, go elsewhere and do a bungy jump. But for an exhilarating ride in a very scenic setting, and with few adrenaline rides you can do as a group of 4 ,this was pretty good. Tip - take the goggles as offered! (wind on the Skywire, dust on the quads).
Only downside we felt was that it is top-end pricing, might deter people from return visits perhaps.

Thanks for taking the time to review us and glad that you enjoyed. I'm sure people will appreciate the insights on the goggles! You've nailed the description of the Skywire, we like to call it a scenic ride with a bit of adrenaline - certainly no bungy! Appreciate that pricing is a always a tricky one give the range of circumstances out there but we strive to keep the pricing as reasonable as possible while ensuring we can keep everyone safe.

We spent a couple of hours at the archery park, including the dragon Hunt 3D trail. When we returned to the carpark we were ready for a hearty snack. The onsite cafe is a real gem. The staff are friendly and offer suggestions about their food (and other activities for the day) The food is wholesome, hearty and all prepared onsite. The portions are generous without being ridiculous. The flavour combinations are incredible. The cafe is licensed. I totally recommend the Avo Smash .... the capsicum relish that accompanied it was delicious. Thanks team. (Sorry, no photos of our amazing meals because we were too busy enjoying them to even think about sharing them online 😊)
