Kayaking wasn’t initially in our plans for this trip but it turned out to be one of the highlights. Josh is a great guide - very knowledgeable and holds safety paramount. The sea conditions were not ideal for our scheduled kayak trip into the Abel Tasman marine reserve but Josh provided different options for us to consider and checked the everyone was happy with an individualised alternative plan. We ended up kayaking in the Awaroa inlet later in the afternoon and it was beautiful. It definitely gave us a deeper appreciation of how amazing the area is when we completed the Awaroa crossing on foot the next day at low tide.

Fantastic kayak trip in a stunning location. Josh was great and put together a wonderful alternative trip when the weather and currents conspired against us. Highly recommend the lagoon - very surreal to kayak and then later walk across the inlet.

A great family trip on the kayaks with Josh who demonstrated his experience in selecting routes and options based around weather and interests. Enjoyed his excellent knowledge of the area, wildlife and natural history. The scenery is outstanding, equipment in great condition and the beach stop for tea and coffee was well catered. A must do.

WOW! It was the best time. Josh is so helpful, kind and fun! He led a great tour for my sister and I, kayaking under a perfect blue sky and great weather. We saw LOTS of seals, stopped for tea, and learned a ton of great new facts. We accidentally capsized at the end (totally safe and no one got hurt), and Josh was helpful and light hearted about it. Would recommend instantly, and can't wait to return for another visit!!

A wonderful half day kayaking with three other couples. My first time sea-kayaking at nearly 60 years old and I was understandably nervous. But Josh is a great guide, friendly, calm, attentive and patient. Beautiful coastline with seal pups, an eagle ray in Shag Harbour and then the sighting of orcas, one not 20 meters from us: this kayak outing was definitely the highlight of our time in the Abel Tasman National Park. Highly recommend if you are staying at Awaroa. Thank you again Josh!
