Had a quick drive around the island - obviously a popular spot for locals with extensive beaches & bike trails

Spectacular ocean beach, lots of room for everyone, somewhat remote because of the drive through the forestry area, but worth the visit

The Nelson / Tasman region is spoilt for great beaches with Tahunanui and Kaiteriteri nearby. This one is a ripper too! A bit off the main road which probably keeps numbers down a bit. Beautiful sand and water. Safe and kid-friendly.

Take the ferry from Mapua and enjoy a morning's walk along the paths or up the beach, a very tranquil place to relax.

It is a nice beach but you will find better. It wasn't very crowded so that might also be a plus for you. You can also drive right up to the beach which may also appeal

Rabbit Island has no commercial entities. There is an wonderfully long beach and heaps of space behind the beach for BBQ's. Horses and riders are welcome at the eastern end of the beach. Beautiful summer or winter
