A spacious well lit area to display Craft and Art, could display a lot more Art, textiles, Sculpture so heaps of scope for new creators to come.

Different pieces of work with plenty to browse over. Nothing dramatically impressive. Worth a gaze if you're trying to kill time.

Seldom to you see such a spacious gallery for displaying art, it really allows for each of the many pieces to stand out, and is an impressive area. Historic touches include leaving some of the old machinery in place. The Loft also has a collection of beautiful rugs and sells small items such as hand creams.I can recommend the one I purchased, SteamCream for dry skins. Testers available.
The only drawback is the two flights of stairs,(no lift, but a couple of chairs to rest on at the halfway point, most people would manage without them) However as I climbed I was intrigued to find out what will be there at the end, I was not disappointed with the range of exhibits.
I would recommend a visit, good for us mentally and physically!

But worth it, an interesting warehouse style art gallery with some lovely works and rugs, the sales lady was a little pushy with selling something... anything !!

One of many buildings within the Harbor Precinct that is worth while to visit and see the architecure ... any building in theis area is nice to look at and see how they built them in the not too distant past ... many places have demolished such buildings and surroundings ... Good on Oamaru for not doing so ....

Large open space with a variety of art work, definitely worth a look and adds to the options to take a leisurely look at whilst wandering around this area of Oamaru.

We came here with family who live in Oamaru who said this is a great place full of artworks etc.
Once we had walked up the stairs we were met with a large bare loft with a couple of pictures hung on the wall and some rugs in the next room. What a waste of what should be an excellent space.
Avoid unless your 'arty' and up your own a...?!!!

It said go up the stairs - we did. x2 flights of old wooden stairs but wonderful scenes at the top. Used to exhibit local artists now but we just loved the wooden rafters and arched windows. Gives it heaps of character. The stairs creak and you can feel the wear in the wood from many years of people walking over them. You have to go check it out.

We spent quite a bit of time deciding which prints to buy, there were so many nice old fashioned ones.
