My husband is a bourbon and whisky lover so of course we had to stop here. I did not taste since I am not a fan but enjoyed watching him try all of them and enjoyed talking with the bartender (is this what you call them?). Staff very friendly. My husband really liked the Dunedin Doublewood so we took a bottle back to the states with us.

Visited here with two friends from Colorado (whisky drinkers). Very welcoming into rustic tasting room and bought a flight of four tastings. These came with notes, a whisky “map”, water, and a bowl of nuts. The staff member took us through the types of whisky from lighter High Wheels to more maltier and smoky whiskies. The 16 year Dunedin Doublewood has a distinct malt taste and was my favourite. An absolute find. We bought a gift box set for a 70th birthday present, but a visit here is a present itself. Wonderful setting in historic building in Oamaru.

My Husband and I arrived with high hopes being lovers of all things Whisky! The shop is set in a beautiful location, the old historic quarters near the towns harbour, the intoxicating fumes of the whisky made our heads spin... but we were instantly brought back down to earth upon entering! The woman working the shop was unwelcoming to say the least, she was very blunt with us both and the prices of the Whisky were absurdly high, such small bottles! No tours, no distillery, very limited offerings, save your time and your money and venture elsewhere. A disappointing stop in what was an otherwise perfect town!

Arrived at 11:30am and figured it was midday somewhere so stopped for a dram. Samples of rare whisky were reasonably priced (top price of $25) and a lot of information on where NZ whisky was going was there to be had. Of course we came away with a bottle of Oamaruvian. Such a good dram.

Whilst on holiday in NZ with my nephew who is a whisky fan we dropped in here for him to sample some of the whisky on offer. The guy in there had a good knowledge of whisky and was very informative and friendly highly recommended for all whisky fans.
