ICONIC ARCHITECTURE.
Feb 2020
St Luke's Anglian Church is in the historic district of Oamaru. Extremely peaceful and tranquil when sitting inside.

Surprisingly large church
Jan 2020
Surprisingly large and beautiful Anglican church for such a small town. I like the look of the outer stonework, and overall architecture. Very 19th and 20th century European.

A Christian landmark in Oamaru
Nov 2019
An almost European-looking church, like many can be found in the UK. Many use the services offered here. For the visitors who are interested in architecture and believers, an interesting building to visit.

Stunningly beautiful
Feb 2019 • Couples
This grand old church sits on the hill and is quite visual from the Historic Precinct. We didn't get to go inside but the outside and gardens are beautiful.

An immensely intimate architectural experience
Oct 2018 • Couples
It isn't often that an architectural religious statement also delivers an immensely intimate architectural experience - but St Luke's manages to achieve this, with ease. It is hard to tear oneself away from the fabulous Ōamaru Whitestone walls, vaulted timber ceilings, and amazing performance environment suited to musicians achieving acoustical heaven.

Prominent position
Sep 2018 • Couples
The church is a smart looking building set in a prominent high position looking down over the city. We visit on a Saturday and find it open to the public. There are some nice stained glass windows and the old style interior gives a worshipful atmosphere. There is easy parking in the street below, but I am not sure how people with mobility issues would fare in attending here. We love visiting old churches!
