With the problems of the recent earthquakes in the area, we had wanted to book the boat that went out to the whales. However, due to the harbour having been severely damaged, there are currently only three trips a day instead of sixteen and, therefore, we were unable to book anything for a month. We had noticed that flights were... More

I admit to a cetacean addiction. I go whale watching whenever possible. I have always done it by boat because that is what is usually possible. I have seen whales near Auckland, Gold Coast Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, and California. This was a different and great experience. Often you see only a flipper, tail, or fin. You know the whale is... Thank-you to Wings Over Whales for a fantastic trip today......we were so disappointed when our much-anticipated boat trip had to be cancelled due to rough seas in the morning, but thrilled that we were offered a transfer to a 30mins flight with your company at no extra cost. The pre-flight info was very informative + Edward was a calming, competent... More

Very professional, well managed and high quality tourist attraction. Safety procedures and briefing on point with a very good plane as well. The building is beautiful and you take off and land right on a runway beside the beach. We had an amazing time and saw plenty of whales and dolphins. I highly recommend this company, we checked the others... More

Originally I booked the flight for my friend and I on the wrong date. The lady at Wings Over Whales helped us edit our booking accordingly with no problems whatsover. When we arrived at the airport in Kaikoura, having never travelled in a small aircraft before, we were so nervous. As we drove in we saw the small plane we... More

This is a tremendous way to see the whales off kaikoura. Small plane so everyone gets a fantastic view. We were out for about an hour. At least 40 minutes over the sea. We were delighted to see a sperm whale that stayed on the surface for over 10 minutes. Also a great way to see the kaikoura peninsula.
