12 out of 10 - Just amazing!! I've been to Kaikoura many times, and have been whale watching a couple of times. Flying above the whales was incredible, not only do you really see the whole scale of each whale, but when they are sub-surface...More

I didn't expect to be on a plane, the morning I went to see whales by boat. Due to cancellations I was happy to fly with wings over whales. It was an amazing experience to see two of these giant whales swimming below us. It...More

We loved this experience and can't rate the company highly enough. They weren't particularly hopeful about finding whales on our trip and explained the reasons for this before we left. They also gave us the opportunity to cancel and have a full refund which we...More

Unlike most of reviewers, our son specifically chose to experience the Whale watch this way as he wish to see the whole body of the whales rather just the flick of the tail. I was originally a bit nervous about flying in a small airplane...More

Like lots who have already reviewed, this wasn't our first choice for seeing the whales. We had stupidly left booking anything to the last minute and the day before our options were limited to a flight rather than a boat. However we were not disappointed....More

Boat gives you a closer encounter, but plane lets you see more area and greater chance of seeing whales and dolphins. I would base my decision on the time of season I was visiting.

I'm thinking about taking my 18 month old on this tour and wondering how suitable it would be and whether there would be any problems with this.
