Kaikoura Whale Watch Day Tour from Christchurch

55 reviews
The Hikurangi Trench, just offshore from the town of Kaikoura, draws sperm whales throughout the year and blue whales, pilot whales, humpback whales, right whales, orcas, and dolphins in season. Look for these majestic creatures from a boat with the help of specialist guides on this memorable day trip. Besides transfers, your tour includes a seal colony visit and a wine tasting (time permitting): Upgrade to add a restaurant lunch.

A useful resource if you are visiting Kaikoura. Staff are helpful and friendly. They have a good range of information leaflets as well as some souvenirs. They also were extremely prompt at answering a query I sent by email.

We had booked a Whale Watch trip when we booked the trip back in January, but they had rung & said due to the virus it was cancelled-just as well the morning we were due to take it was pretty rough. The I Site advised that they were doing tours only on weekends. Gave us a few tips on local activities.

Hosts were really informative and keen to assist. They have a specials board with special pricing on trips which is useful if you're on a budget or looking for a deal.
