Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were staying nearby and couldn't resist pulling into the car park for a view over the town as the sun set on Kaikoura.

It is a good lookout point and worth a quick stop if you are nearby. The views from the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway are better if you have more time.

As we continue our exploration of the South Island, we came across countless "Lookout points & Stop points."

Besides providing much needed rest & toilet breaks after long drives, these places always highlight the natural beauty of NZ.

Be it on ground level or mid to high up in the mountain tops, the views are always either beautiful, amazing or simply spectacular.

Kaikoura Lookout is beautiful!

Brilliant views from the top of this hill behind Kaikoura. Strange that it is placed near a huge water tank, but forget that and admire the mountain/coastal scenery.

If you are walking on the esplanade just take a moment to have a look on beatiful sea scenery during sun set.

Easy drive to the top and excellent views over Kaikoura and from the other side out over South Bay.
Came here to take some pics of the sunset and it was a really good spot photos and fish n chips!

Having visited Kaikoura several times I'd never visited this location before and what a miss as it provides such great views of the town and South Bay.
Easy access and parking.
