Excellent Operator! Very professional, knowledgeable staff. Our Heli pilot, Aaron was so interesting and the tour of Kaikōura NZ was amazing even though we missed the elusive Hump back whale we saw plenty of dusky dolphins and seals. The landscape pure joy!

We had a fantastic time on our flight with South Pacific Helicopters. Our pilot Dan was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave lots of interesting commentary about Mt Fyffe and the area we flew over and landed. We will definitely do another flight in the near future.

Pilot Daniel gave us a custom flight around the mountains behind Kaikoura, showing us the fault lines from the 2016 earthquake and the new lake that was created. He then did a mountain top landing. The whole experience was marvellous and Daniel and his team were thoroughly professional and reassuring. Could not have been better.

A gin tasting on top of a mountain - Why not!
Fabulous views, awesome helicopter ride & excellent gins & cheese platter. What’s not to enjoy.
Our group of three had perfect weather & thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience.

Dan and Kell took our group of 7 in two helicopters up to Middlehurst Station — a high country sheep ranch over the peaks from Kaikoura. The views were just mind-blowing and Henry and the team at Middlehurst gave us a great tour of the wool shed and the station. It was all in a memorable authentic experience from South Pacific Helicopters & Middlehurst Station.

This is truly the best way to see the whales and dolphins and our pilot Daniel made it unforgettable We first earned it is less invasive to view the whales this way as you are really not invading their space. Also, we were happy to see that all the pilots and boats shared their spotting so in a helicopter, you could quickly go to the identified spotting. We were able to watch several different sperm whales for a relatively long time before they dove. A bonus was then seeing several orcas eating what looked to be a 12 foot long swordfish. We also saw several pods of dolphins playfully swimming after a Swim With Dolphins boat. Daniel was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and local history. He then took us on an aerial tour of the coast line and of Kaikoura. He set the heli gently down on top of a steep hill for a spectacular view. Daniel seemed genuinely interested in us and gave us some good recommendations. Its a splurge but so worth it!

Very well run facility. Beautiful helicopter with open views for everyone to get good shots. Unfortunately, we didn't see any whales, however, guides and staff were fantastic.
