We found this shop right at the end of the road. A bit away from the other jade shops. The prices were certainly cheaper and visiting was such a lovely experience. The lady in the shop was so friendly and chatty and knowledgeable about Jade. She explained that most items were New Zealand jade but pointed out the jade that was foreign. We bought a beautiful carved kiwi figure. I did not see similar figures in any of the other shops and there was a chose of sizes too. I think they were carved in the shop but forgot to ask. Very good value too.

This is a family owned and run business in Hokitika. The business is located on Tancred street, away from the main tourist drag. We considered it to have the best Jade in town after doing our research and visiting the other well know Jade stores in the area. We were advised, by the lovely lady in the store, that the piece chooses you. It took us sometime to find what we liked as there are so many designs & pieces to choose from. The quality of the Jade is absolutely beautiful. My family bought four pieces, of individual design, colouring and size. We were told that the stone came from the nearby Arahura River. This place is authentic, original and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
