The Dell is only a few metres from the roadside and very much worth visiting. We waited until 10pm to visit to make sure it was dark enough to see the glow worms. It looked like miniature fairy lights had been sprinkled around - so...More

Parking almost at the entrance, no distance to walk. So easy to access it gets a lot of people, many with torches making it difficult to see. One of nature's amazing sights.

Just minutes' walk from the main road is this leafy canyon that is home to spectacular glow worm displays. However, they can be seen only in the dark at night so come at the appropriate time, let your eyes adjust to the dark as you...More

We didn’t pay for any Glow Worm tours while in NZ but this satisfied our curiosity about Glow Worms. A free activity, small dell area and was quite busy but impressive. You do need to wait for it to be completely dark before you visit...More

Very short walk from the road. At busy time may be difficult to park close by. Don’t expect all tourists to be quiet, or to not shine torches / camera flashes! Apart from that, a great display and the worms seem to be used to...More

Went in the evening, only a 5 mins walk from the Carpark. Upon entering the trail, you will reach a Y-junction, left path leads to nowhere, TAKE THE RIGHT and you will reach an area bounded by high walls. It’s exposed, unlike those dark caves,...More

Just next to a highway near Shining Star accommodation. Easy to find, free of charge and full of glow worms a short walk in. It was a good recommendation by Shining star accommodation.
