The Gold Room is a fascinating place to buy gold and gold related products at reasonable pricing. It was a unique experience to even see some large gold stones. Customer service is extremely courteous and friendly. Would certainly visit again over here and very highly recommend this place to anyone.

Wow, what a great place to visit. We were here for ages, admiring some incredible jewellery. The Gold Room really hero's the history of the area and promotes the region well. Not many "shops" I declare must be done when travelling but the Gold Room and other Hokitika shops are in this category.

Great place to visit. Like a museum with Kaniere dredge model etc and some beautiful gold pieces. You get the chance to hold a 20 000 nugget Real Kaniere dredge buckets can be seen at Stopforths in Hall Street. There is a lot of history in Hokitika and this is a place to celebrate it.

The shop has some nice and quality items but the service from the staff, who I don't think we're the owners, was quite poor. It was not busy but one staff member had to call another to come through because she hadn't noticed the customers. She was not able to give much information about the products.

My 11 year old grandson wished to purchase a small gift of earrings for his Mother whilst we were on Queensland school holidays. Although the price was modest, the service and gift wrapping offered was EXCEPTIONAL. Do not recall the name of the lady who assisted, and am unsure if she was the owner, or a very obliging staff member, but all credit is due!
