The West Coast Wilderness Trail is a truly unique experience of unspoiled forest, towering Southern Alps, tranquil lakes and Tasman Sea foreshore. Hokitika Cycles & Sportsworld will organise your Bike hire, Shuttle & Transfers for the easy grade 1-2 trail which can be ridden either in part from any of the multiple entry points or best ridden over 4 days split into approx 35kms/day. Allow 3-6 hour

If you want to hire or buy bikes, this is the place to go. The service was fantastic, nothing too much trouble, and Delia made sure we hired the right bikes for what we wanted to do. Very knowledgeable with great tips for the trail, and the bikes were excellent. Highly recommend

We rented bikes from Hokitika Cycles to ride the West Coast Wilderness trail, and had an excellent experience. I set up the rental and shuttle to Ross with Delia, the owner with her husband, Gary, who was most helpful. Despite some changes in our plans and a last minute need to rent four more bikes, Delia was friendly, helpful and accommodating. On the day of our ride we were a bit delayed, but this was no problem. Upon arrival, Gary fitted everyone on their bikes, and away we went!
The ride from Ross to Hokitika was awesome! The scenery was amazing, and it took us through a variety of terrain along the coast. We arrived back at the shop having thoroughly enjoyed this ride and rental experience.
If you are visiting the West Coast of New Zealand, do not miss biking the West Coast Wilderness Trail and renting bicycles from Hokitika Cycle!

Delia and Gary run Hokitika Cycles and helped with bike rental and transportation. Their bikes are perfect for the trail and well maintained. Delia could not have been more helpful and I can't recommend using Hokitika Cycles more. Fantastic.

Having needed to sort out changing bike hire and transport logistics at short notice, we were referred to the guys at Hokitika Cycles & Sportsworld.
From the first contact they were quick and attentive and easily providing better value for money than other competitors we looked into.
The bike we hired for our daughter was fine and we left happy.
But then the team really stepped up...
From helping us with running repairs to bikes to providing a larger replacement bike for our daughter the service truly exceeded our expectations. I won't go into detail here as I'd not want to create a rod for their back, but the help was much appreciated and we'd certainly use again and recommend others to do the same.

We took a half day ride hoping to get back ahead of an approaching storm. Delia and Gary were helpful with recommendations for trail options and were spot on with their weather forecast. The bikes were well maintained (appeared nearly new) and were perfect for the trails. Their service was great - fast, friendly, and professional. Thanks Delia and Gary for a great ride!

We hired 2 E Bikes from Gary and Delia and they organised our shuttles for a weekend cycling the West Coast Wilderness trail.
They were so good to us coming up with alternatives when the rains came and helping one of our group when her bike had an issue. So good to deal with actual locals who know the the area. Their shop was a treasure too with lots of deals on offer.

This is THE place to rent a bike (s) from There bikes are first rate and the personal service and info provided is exceptional The team organised the shuttle for me and everything worked out perfectly

My Sister Helen & I chose to hire a couple of bikes for a short ride down the West Coast from Westport to Fox Glacier. I am really pleased that we chose Nelson, Cindy and the Team to deliver and deliver they really did...our bikes and gear were delivered on time to Westport Sports shop, where Adrian, checked them okay and we were on our way the next morning. Thanks also to Fox Glacier Motors where we dropped them off for the courier. We had a great ride with pretty good weather, met some wonderful Coasters but most of all thanks Nelson & Cindy for doing such a great job for us...cannot speak highly enough of you....
