Special Hokitika Scenic Tour and Stay at the Beach House, with Rachel as our tour guide:
We enjoyed a really lovely day out with Rachel, who met us at our motel at 11am and took us to our accommodation for the night ahead, so we could leave our car there and spend the day seeing some of Hokitika's great sites. We went to Hokitika Gorge, where the river is turquoise blue and the swing bridge was great fun, then Kowhitirangi, where Stanley Graham massacred 7 people in 1941 and saw a very moving and fitting tribute to those killed. Followed by the Treetop walkway where we could see for miles and learn also about the different native trees and plants. Lunch was provided at the lovely cafe there and that too was exceptional. Rachel allows you time alone with your partner to enjoy the tour/food etc but gives you amazing insight into the history and interesting facts about the area during the drives and at each site.
After lunch we went to a very beautiful still and quiet lake which finished off our day perfectly, just standing on the jetty drinking the views in was lovely.
Rachel took us to our Beach Haven, a lovely house on a secluded beach to stay the night - leaving us a bottle of bubbly and the most huge and delicious cheeseboard and meat platter you've ever seen. What an amazing day and evening we had, watching the sunset and enjoying the beach. Plus Ray's eels - the owner of the house we stayed at showed us the local stream where we fed about 10 fat eels, who squirmed right out of the water to eat the chicken pieces we saved from our platter.....great video and a brilliant memory to savour.
Rachel is the perfect guide - has extensive knowledge of the area and nature around there and is a lovely person, generous and kind and very easy to be with. Thanks for a brilliant tour and stay over in Hokitika Rachel. x

Great tour company, really friendly and helpful in arranging transport out to Arahura river. Especially understanding when my other tour was longer than expected and I missed the first pickup time. They arranged a second pick up time and never made me feel bad about it. Very professional and great chats in the car with the drivers, throughly recommend to all travellers.

We went on a wonderful tour to lake Kaniere, the native rainforest, the waterfall and Hokitika Gorge. Rachel picked us up from our motel on time. She drove us in a clean and comfortable SUV. The tour was very scenic and very well paced. We enjoyed walking the rainforest and the Gorge. Rachel was a lovely and friendly guide. She was very knowledgeable and informative. We learned about history of the area and the plants and trees of the forest. We enjoyed our time and felt relaxed and comfortable. Rachel went above and beyond. She took good pictures for us and was happy to answer all our questions. She had a sandfly natural oil repellent which we applied before walking through the forest. She also had delicious homemade cheese scones as a snack for us. Thank you Rachel for providing outstanding service and for taking us on this very beautiful tour. Very Highly recommended!

I booked two tours with Rachel, on arrival into Hokitika we were met at the rail station and taken up to Punakaiki to see the Pancake Rocks. Rachel and her team provided great information about the area and the rock formations and we weren't rushed at all, and the vans were comfortable for the drive.
The following day we did the Hokitika Gorge and Tree Tops tour. These were both great attractions. There were a few stories about the local area as well that were very interesting. The Gorge was amazing and an absolute must see if you are in the area, the water is just stunning and it is a very pleasant walk around the loop, with lookouts and bridges, great photos to be had. Tree tops was also a pleasant surprise with great views. Rachel got us all back to the rail station in plenty of time to catch our train back to Christchurch. Rachel and her team were perfect hosts, this is the way to see the area if you arrive by train and don't want to hire a car or want a more relaxed and personal experience, and to learn more about the area first hand.

We only had one day in Hokitika and so called Scenic Tours on the off chance of a tour around the Tree tops walk. Rachel came to our rescue and provided a fantastic tour of both the tree tops Walk and a visit to Lake Mahinapua. We really appreciated her knowledge of the birds etc and especially the local knowledge of the history of the area. She could not have been more accommodating and we would thoroughly recommend her and the company. Many thanks and we hope to bring family back to see it all again.

I spent such a great time visiting Hokitika Gorge and Pancakes Rocks during Eastern long weekend! Not only for the wonderful places, but also for the amazing experience to meet Rachel. She kindly shared with me her knowledge, love and respect for the nature and more about her amazing culture. Thank you Rachel for showing me kindly these great places worth to visit and your company.
I recommend this trip with Rachel 100 percent. Her comfortable vehicle and a great local knowledge of the area means I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her tour company to any traveller wanting a bespoke tour experience. A complete service as she picked me up from the Train Station in Greymouth and drop me in the night time to my hotel in Lake Brunner.
Thank you Rachel!

We went for a tour and Rachel is one of the best guide. She is very informative and we learned a lot from her.. She is our guide going to the gorge and punakaiki pancake rocks. She drove us safe knowing that the weather at that time was crappy. She is nice and lovely too.. If we will go in a tour with our family, we will definitely get in touch with her again.

We took the Pancake Rocks tour. Efficient booking service and prompt answers to questions in connection with booking. Excellent commentary on local history etc. Looked after all members of the party very well and researched information when we had questions on, e.g., local plants, and provided us with answers. Would definitely book again with Rachel! A most enjoyable tour.

A big thanks to Rachel for looking after our group of 11 Tauranga-ites last week.
Not only door to door service from Hokitika airport to our hotel but also the same from Hokitika to Greymouth to catch the TranzAlpine.
In between times Rachel took us to the Tree-Top walk, Lake Kaniere and the fabulous Hokitika Gorge.
Thanks Rachel :-)
Wonderful service and lovely friendly attitude.

Rachel drove us from Franz Josef to Greymouth to catch the TranzAlpine. It was a great drive with a break in Hokitika, where we managed to see a kiwi at the Kiwi Centre. Rachel was welcoming and informative about sights along the way and made sure we arrived in plenty of time for the train.
