About
Landscape Photography Gallery showcasing incredible scenes from New Zealand, but mainly focusing on the amazing West Coast. All taken by local Master Photographer - Stewart Nimmo. Daughter Lydia has also taken up Photography, specialising in incredibly Portraiture. Our Contemporary Gallery+Store includes locally made, high quality giftware; including glass sculptural pieces, ceramic works, NZ artesian locally derived honey. Plus we have the incredibly popular Evolve Jewellery, which features many of New Zealand's icons. Our Possum Merino is the most modern fibre to be developed, and is extremely light, soft and luxurious. The gloves, hats and scarves and pullovers will keep you incredibly warm! The Gallery space resides in an historic refurbished building of 1938 Art Deco Design, formally the National Bank. The interior lent itself to a drastic upgrade into a funky Industrial Design including a chandelier made of washing machine drums!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice gallery with beautiful art, photography and jewelry. We spent an hour picking out Evolve jewelry with a very helpful and patient sales lady. Kindly, the owner helped my husband clean his camera lens while he waited.

We stopped by the gallery while having a night in Greymouth. As soon as we entered Stewart greeted us and was incredibly friendly! He was more than happy to answer any questions that we had and you could tell that he genuinely loved talking about his photos. The photos themselves were absolutely stunning and really showcased the local area.
A must stop if you're anywhere near Greymouth!

After a late dinner we were driving back to our hotel and saw the lights on in the Nimmo Gallery. We noticed the incredible pictures on the walls and had to stop in to take a closer look. We were warmly greeted by Stewart (the owner and photographer!) who we realised had opened the store late because he noticed some people looking in the window and asked if they'd like to come in to take a closer look. We lucked out big time! His pictures are from all over the south island of New Zealand so there is something there for everyone. Stewart asked lots of questions about our travel and was excited to tell us a bit of the backstory about some of his pictures and about the town of Greymouth. Awesome store, awesome owner, awesome experience!

We were lucky to meet owner & photographer Stewart Nimmo & learned more about his talents, not least that he designed & built the exceptional shop interior! His photography is impressive & ties in with the growing line of local fine giftware.

The four of us found this a great place to browse although we all bought something, great photography art pieces and other small and some larger gift ideas a bit different than usual.
A wonderful selection of specialised honey jars and tastings, amazing flavours from the different flowers the bees collect from.
Very friendly helpful staff.
Only 200 metres or so on the Main Street from the train station, where we walked from , visiting on a day trip on the Trans Alpine train trip from Christchurch, another highly recommended activity.

We visited this West Coast Town , as the folks are just so welcoming, and popped into the new premises next door to previous Gallery! Welcome was lovely, but our eyes immediately fell upon the fantastic mix of beauty in craft, photography, and the very studio itself a work of art! So many beautiful pictures, and such a variety of stock too .
Prices are very fair, and we had picture delivered in beautifully protective wrappings, and very quickly !!!!
I might add that it is so much admired by all who come into the house !
This Gallery has the quality of the best we have seen in London, Amsterdam, and Edinburgh, to say but a few, and I only wish that everyone coming off the famous 'Trans Alpine ' train had the pleasure we had !
Stewart Nimmo was on the premises , and assisted us, quite happily with absolutely no pressure to buy.
Take t his amazing train journey, and do take Tim e to go into this lovely Gallery. You won't regret it, and you will come out feeling you have had a lovely experience !
