No visit to Whangarei is complete without going to Burning Issues. I'm a fan for glass, which is here in splendid abundance, but there are ceramics, sculpture, jewellery and more. Highly recommended

We came to the Town Basin as we were passing through and one of our young teens noticed that the glass blower was working on this Sunday afternoon. Our young teens were entranced. We came away with several purchases.

I was blown away with the beautiful pieces on display in this gallery! Amazing glassware that is exquisite, I loved the bronze Pieces. The staff were chatty and helpful. There really is something for everyone, from pricey but beautiful bronze pillar, to a piece of...More

I was fascinated by the glass blowing and bought a long stemmed vase. Takes a lot to get me to buy anything so thats a recommendation in itself!

really exciting pieces, a world of knowledge and great enthusiasm. New things to admire every time you get there. If you like to spend a little extra on something really special, then take your time and and take something home.

Would recommend a visit as it displays and offers for sale unique pieces of work not available anywhere else. Very attractive and interesting pieces and reasonably priced.

Beautiful glasswork to buy in the shop but highlight is being able to actually see the glassblowers at work crafting pieces and see how it's done. I don't think that happens every day but it may do, would only take a phone call to find...More

We stopped by on a walk round the Quay and we were made to feel very welcome to watch the talents at work. Pieces were original and had we not been back packing I am sure we would have left with a lot more! We...More

Just purchased yet another original necklace from Burning Issues. They have a wide range and a variety of price options. If anyone is looking for something special that isn't a mass produced this is the place to go
